gregincal This past week they obviously decided to go ahead and continue building some 60's with later windows instead of switching back to building 85's. I haven't heard of any new 85 VINs recently. There's a bunch of us waiting, so hopefully we'll get some >5000 85 VINs soon.�

@gregincal....Yeah...I agree. numbers higher are getting made before many of us because they're 60. maybe I shoulda gotten 60 battery. I got 85 thinking I would get it sooner than 60s. Oh well. waiting and not know is killing me....�

rsampsonjr I have a 2/5 to 2/19 window. Obtained VIN 5210 via the iOS app on Friday, got full VIN confirmed by DS via email on Friday also. Mine is a performance model. Should know more on Monday or Tuesday.�

alluu Picked up #4449 at the factory today. The car is amazing. Only due bill item is the chrome trim for the UMC. I'd suggest that anyone that can pick up the car at the factory, do it. You will probably get your car sooner and the factory tour is pretty cool. Photos to come.�

kendallpb I'm glad you mentioned the trim; I forgot about that and I had an old version of the checklist (dunno if it's on there now) that someone here made, so it wasn't in my list.

Puyallup Bill Good to hear another report that Paint Armor was not on the due bill. But where the heck is my #4429? Read a report today of performance #4605 being picked up in Bellevue (Seattle area) today. From what I can see, several performance cars with higher VINs are being delivered. And looks like 60s are being given some priority now, but that is OK with me, they have been waiting a long time.
Oh well. Waited for the LEAF, guess I can wait a bit more for the S - I'm burning mostly Watts, little oil.�

There are some 60s w seq numbers in 13,xxx already have vins while some of us 85s in 11,xxx and 12,xxx are still waiting patiently. I'm happy for them though and 60s w earlier seq number are well deserved. I just hope that tesla doesn't go too crazy w batching and go too far off the seq numbers.�

By the time I got my Vin 4957 they had already built the car. By the time I got my paperwork it was already being shipped.
Still waiting on a delivery date, but I had to rush the financing since I got so little warning.
Remember to keep calling if you are close or they will get ahead of you.
My wait is nearly over ;-)

Mika The mobile app is still telling me no vehicle linked yet... perf 85, sequence #11380. I figure it can't be long now, but I must admit I'm annoyed that my delivery window was so off the mark. It was originally Jan 23rd - Feb 6th, which I can only assume was given to me before they decided to make nothing but 60's for a while.�

Cool-Model S Called TM on Friday and they told me that I will not get my VIN until mid march with delivery expectation end of March. Too long for me! Today I got an email that I am approved for Penfed financing. Hope TM will improve on these dates.�

Mickfair Ditto!!!! Original reservation sequence 15,8xx finalized on 1/22/13, delivery button 2/10/13 with projected delivery window of March 1 - 15th. 85kw Grey/Grey Pano, tech, sound, air. I have been checking this forum and my dashboard multiple times a day. I was excited like others to see the RED delivery button. Immediately confirmed/completed all the requested data. Now I just need the VIN so that I can complete my financing arrangements. I finally had a chance to do a test drive yesterday which was spectacular. Then this morning I was out walking and saw a gorgeous blue Tesla drive down the street. Definitely seeing more of them on the roads in Los Angeles. Thank you to everyone for sharing as they have helped me estimate the timing. Look forward to talking to the DS and getting more details.
I assume that it is normal that after you submit all the delivery information for the red delivery button to go away. Makes sense but now I wish that I had printed the screen to have printed confirmation of the two week delivery window as it is not yet showing up on my dashboard.�

Yes, this is normal; you only need to fill it out once.
Note: It may show up again randomly. I filled mine out months ago, then a month or two ago it showed up again but did nothing (redirected a few times to bring me back to the My Tesla page). Very confusing, but my PS said it didn't do anything then because I'd filled out the info already. So if it shows up again and doesn't seem to work, ignore it--you only fill out the info once.�

hasselboxster I just discovered my delivery button as well. Mar 13 - Mar 27 delivery window. I finalized and did papers on January 22... called last week and the date for my car to be off the production line is Mar 4.
one issue for me... I live closer to Toronto than any other service center, but live in New York. This was the service center listed within the delivery info. I need to figure out if thats going to cause any problems at the border. Im not about to pay duty or have them claim i'm importing a car... anyone else out there with any experience like this?�

wstuff FWIW my delivery was Feb 8th, in the fist week of the delivery window and 4 months earlier than I was told at reservation, minus the 40 and 60 battery packs and the red it's all about BATCHING, thats why they take so many finalize lists, then they can put thru 100's of similar and geographical like destinations. It,s very good business, please try to be patient, it is all worth
the wait, I knows it's hard, been there done that but this is the real deal, it is just too much fun, here's after the first bath.

jchangyy I have to agree with Highedu on this one. I also have delivery date of 2/2 - 2/16 and no VIN yet. When I spoke with my PS on Friday, he told me that there is a good chance I may not make my delivery window and will let me know what my new delivery date would be this coming week. I'm hoping to get my VIN and my delivery soon after and hope to make the window, but since it takes them 5-7 days to build my car, and then ship it, I doubt that I'll make my window. I would be very happy if I'm proved wrong.�

Kraken 14,189... no delivery button, so I take it to mean that they are working with our deployment schedule. Right now most of the delivery dates people are getting would have been the absolute worst possible scenario (car ready 60-72 days before we get back, while tesla was originally saying they would only hold the car for 60 days). So, I'm glad they're working with us. A little disappointing to know we'll have to wait longer/could have it soon, but it would just sit in the garage even if we got it before we left.This is the second time I'll have a new car waiting for me after a long trip/deployment, the wait sucks. A couple of the windows people have received would have given us one or two days before we deploy in which we could have picked it up, but even then it would have been gambling on it coming out the first couple days of our window.�

I finalized on 17 Jan and signed the docs on the 18th. I haven't gotten a delivery button so no delivery questionnaire, and no delivery window. Lots of folks have been telling me to call call call. I didn't want to but today I gave in. My PS called back within a couple of hours and told me that "Shane" is heading down the canal and will be born on February 25th. She actually used the term "at the end of the line." I'm not certain exactly what that means but it's VERY exciting to think about. Though I guess the 6 days to build one is not exactly accurate. Still no delivery button, or delivery window but I know his birthday! Is that special or what?
UPDATE: 15 minutes after our call the delivery button was there. March 6th - March 20th. I'm still special though.�

tenstringer009 Unfortunately, my dad should've gotten his delivery window at this point (SF Bay Area, 85kwh, configured on 17-Jan), but due to a mix-up with the pre-MVPA along the way which caused Tesla's system to not recognize it as completed (even though he did electronically sign it and the HQ Product Specialist said it was received), he still doesn't have a delivery window.
This is a bit concerning because I'm not sure when Tesla would've recognized that the pre-MVPA wasn't completed and reached out to take care of the issue. The only reason why this got resolved today was because I monitor this forum, saw that some 85kwh owners were getting their delivery windows around his finialization time, and alerted my dad to check his Tesla page. Only then did he see that the status of his Tesla hadn't changed from the 'paperwork' stage. While, admittedly, my dad deserves some blame for not checking on his Tesla dashboard more often, at the same time, I feel like Tesla should've reached out about it before my dad contacted them (and also not have had the HQ Product Specialist say that it was received when apparently it wasn't).
Not all Tesla purchasers are constantly checking this forum and/or their dashboard, and I don't think it would be too hard for Tesla to implement some sort of exception report within their system that shows any customers with pre-MVPAs (or any other needed paperwork) that are outstanding past 10 days, 20 days, etc. This way, Tesla can be more proactive and reach out to customers to make sure they don't have any questions/concerns, etc. Needless to say, my dad is not happy with the communication between Tesla and him right now. Hopefully things will get better from here (which I'm sure they will once the Tesla is in his garage!).�

I'm a slightly earlier res. # than the '12xxx factory pickup' crowd, and also an 85, and I just got my VIN. My (clearly overly optimistic) delivery window was 2/7-2/21. I think you got tighter delivery windows because you were doing factory pickup. However, I think your delivery windows were probably also overly optimistic. Your cars will probably get VINs in the coming week.
Of course, the failure to update information is really terrible; at least in my case the delivery window was simply deleted from my dashboard. But now I'm getting close enough to delivery that I actually *need* an accurate delivery window!
I've mostly been OK with the delivery windows being wildly wrong, but now that my car is actually nearly done being manufactured, I'm getting much more nervous about the lack of information.�

Kaivball You are assuming that the cars are built sequentially based on the reservation number.
That is not the case. That's why they set expectations of 6+ months to delivery when you ordered.
Tesla is clearly building cars in batches based on some kind of a scheme. Maybe based on material availability or minimizing machine set up or avoiding feeding the Herby.
I think this community is great but I also think that we are driving ourselves crazy demanding minutiae and detail and create expectations that don't exist. It's great how much info there is here but sometimes too much information can create more anxiety rather than calm�

gregincal The only way I've ever been able to explain widely out of order ones like this is that their config exactly matched a canceled order that was already in production. Otherwise I can't think of a reason. Anyway, call me an eternal optimist, but I count a new 5300 VIN for an 85 a good sign.

yeah...i am driving myself crazy. but it is none the less frustrating to see someone reserving after me getting their car before me. I understand batching, but 2000 seq number out of order seems bit extreme.
whatever....there is nothing I can do. I guess I don't have the patience like many of you do.�

gregincal That's the part you need to let go. People who ordered their cars long before us but wanted Red or live in Europe are still patiently waiting, I just got back from Australia where cars may not be available until next year. I just want to know when I'll get my car, but have no illusions about "fairness". Tesla builds in the order they want to build for their own reasons. I think the whole reservation sequence is nonsense, and they may have actually done away with it (at least for the US).�

gregincal Tomorrow. I've been very consistent with that prediction for the last week. :wink: My bigger hope is that when we get the VINs we'll find that the cars are almost done. Of course there's always the possibility that any individual car will fail a quality test and be delayed, so it's best to be prepared for that.�

jchangyy You can't access the app until a VIN has been assigned. a lot of us are in the same boat.
@gregincal and @highedu...I'd say Thursday/Friday based on report from today's tour seeing mostly performance. who knows...�

kendallpb Maybe it was a mistake? Or they got a bunch of Qs and realized it was silly to remove it? It's not like the # being there matters much, IMHO anyway; folks still get one when making a reservation, right...? So showing it there or not doesn't really matter.

Al Sherman Agree, But. I'm cutting folks slack on this because of the attachment factor. For the vast majority of folks (on this forum) this is something they've been dreaming/thinking/planning about for a long time. I make an effort to live my life without attachment to outcomes and being open to all the possibilities. Having said that, I fully expected the car in late August, or September. As it became clear from this forum (gradually) that it could/would clearly come earlier I adjusted my expectations. I'm certain others did the same. My car is coming in a few weeks. I can truly see how even the calmest, most non attached person with a res # 6000 lower than others with Vin's and delivery windows (there's an 18,xxx a couple of pages back) would get a little spooled up.
Having said that, there are many folks who have the car and have never been on this forum. I'm seeing that on the Facebook pages recently created. Lots of people actually driving the car in oblivious delight. Lot's of questions that they would clearly know the answers to if they spent a little time here. One way is not more correct than the other. I guess it depends on personality.
I also think Tesla will work this all out when they don't feel as though they are in a frenzy to pump out cars. As for me, it's a huge moment in my life and I'm keeping it fun. First adopter glitches and all.:smile:�

Borgie Like most others here with approaching deliveries, I have been patiently waiting for my VIN and an update. By "patiently waiting" I mean checking email, MY TESLA, and the app many, many times per day. Still no word, but I'm hoping for at least a VIN this week. highedu and gregincal, we're kind of in the same boat with similar Res numbers.�

Mika Finally got my VIN this morning via the app. Res 11380, perf 85, gray, black interior, cf trim, silver 21's. looks like p85's of all sorts are building this week.�

that's great Mika...this seems consistent with batching of 85, performance this week. I wonder when they'll start non-perf 85s? My guess is next week, but I hope I'm wrong and they start this week.

jchangyy you might be special though...being the canadian reservation. I have yet to see US non-perf 85kwh with seq# 11,xxx to 12,xxx yet. However, I hope you're right. I'd rather get my VIN this week than next week.�

mfarendt Called my Delivery Specialist this afternoon and finally have a VIN for the car. I'm one week in to my delivery window and doubt that I'll get the car by the time the window closes, but at last I have a VIN.
