I love the Brown. There are so many, black, white, red, and other common colors out there! They remind me of a Lexus commercial where everyone was driving a white Lexus! Boring!

Anyone happen to have a picture with 22" Savini BM7 wheels on their Tesla? I'm thinking about buying these in titanium and can't find a pic on a Tesla.

We actually just recently refinished a set of BM7s in a custom brushed two-tone finish (Polished lip and Brushed Tinted Faces)

I love the style of these wheels, and they're a great wheel for the price (in a standard finish).

    yearofthedragon
@[emailprotected], I believe @TheAccuser is asking about the quality of the wheel (ie. construction, load rating), not the great price for what you get.

  • Aug 10, 2015
    Tony Lin
Yup, I just spoke to Tim over the phone and answered all his questions!

Savini offers both Cast and Forged wheels, the BM7 are part of their cast lineup, so the weight and strength are comparable to OEM wheels.
Savini wheels are designed specifically for larger/heavier vehicles like SUVs and luxury vehicles (only 20/22" available) so they're rated at 2200lbs and will handle the Model S easily.
Let me if there are any other questions!
  • Aug 10, 2015

Better get forged, 22 is heavy. I almost went for 22, glad didn't!!
  • Aug 10, 2015
    yearofthedragon
I agree with @Tony Lin, 22" cast wheels are bricks. To be fair, the 21" oe Turbine wheels are dyam heavy too.

21/22" forged wheel is the way to go.
  • Aug 10, 2015
    marty2112
even 22'' forged for me is heavy since I drive a 85. Personally 21'' forge perfect and is much lighter than factory 19".

+1! Totally agree, forged is definitely the way to go if you're looking for the strongest/lightest wheels built specifically for the car to maximize mileage and performance.
Unfortunatelly not everyone can or is willing to pay over $5-6,000 for a set of wheels.

Rotary forged options such as the HRE Flowforms, TSW RotaryForged, Forgestar, and the Vossen VFS series offer flow formed options which offer the perfect balance of lightweight/strength all at a reasonable cost compared to fully forged.

Those would be the flow formed Vossen VFS2s, you can find more photos and info on the wheels here.

Love the HREs. I have a set of P101s for my R8.

Not sure I really want to go full forged like the P101s or P104s (which would look great I think).

Do you know if the HRE FF01 or FF15 has the backpad pocketing to accommodate this screw?

Yup, the HRE FFs do have the back pocketing on the hub so you wont have any issues with the brake retaining screw!
We do carry HRE so let me know if you're interested in a quote!

Heres some pics my Avant Garde 580 wheels. Many thanks to Jason at www.GetYourWheels.com, who was absolutely awesome! He was very patient with my numerous questions, and he answered my emails promptly and happily. I bought wheels, tires and sensors from him, which arrived mounted perfectly, very well packed and protected from damage. Also thanks to Andre for sending me pics of his beautiful car, which helped me immeasurably. And thank you to the many others who posted their pics here too. Wheels are AG M580 Brushed Black Nickle, 20x8.5 front +30, and 20x10 +38 rear. Tires 240/45R20 front, 285/35R20 rear. For me, I think its the perfect fit. No rubbing at all (front or rear). No spacers. There is a space behind the wheels for the hub bolt.

After exactly 3 months and 8500 km of driving my new Model S with its standard 19inch stock rims, my made to measure BC forged wheels arrived today. Got mounted, went for a trip already - Very pleased!

    As for detail:
BC forged wheels, two piece forged wheel
    20x9 et35 front, 20x10 et40 rear, tires are Vredestein, 245 front, 275 rear
The rim type/model is called HB-S02, rims in brushed black, disc in matte gunmetal

Now I only need lug nuts of a matching color.

In this first picture, you can see the rear wheel:

    Hmm... ;)

about CHF 6k, all inclusive. That means the rims as such, tires, tire pressure sensors, balancing of the wheels, mounting the wheels, and all the paperwork to pass the extra checking/testing and registration process one needs in Switzerland to get custom wheels accepted. And to get an updated vehicle license which declares the specific car has been checked with the specific set of wheels by the local traffic authority bureau. I know that sounds expensive - it might be, even - but when I ordered my Model S last October, the Tesla 21s where prized at CHF 5.5k extra, while the take the 19s away from the car. So for 0.5k more, I got:
    - an extra set of 19s, which will be my winter wheels (if I don't sell them as a complete set)
    - the wheel design as I want
    - lighter wheels than the Tesla 21s
    - my preferred tire dimensions/wheel dimensions of 20" instead of 21.

As far as I know nobody has put a set of AG M550s on the Model S yet.
But they do offer a 20x9/10.5 fitment in Satin Machined Silver which would fit perfectly!

Yeah! Not bad. I think it'll look good with machined faces (sans gold) and dark silver pockets.

T Sportline, I love the painted rocker panels. Any chance you could post a " how to" to remove them so that others can do the same?

I got staggered 20" TSW Bathurst Rotary Forged wheels (F: 9"/R: 10") with Conti DW 245/275 tires. Very lightweight, approximately 8 lbs per wheel lighter than the stock 19"s, and close to 12lbs per wheel lighter than the stock 21's. Car handles far better than the stock 19's and still is very comfortable in terms of ride, and quietness. In terms of efficiency, its very close to the stock 19" Primacy. Perhaps slightly better if any different, but definitely not worse.

Since Tesla doesn't have field service manuals, nor have any available parts diagrams, this information is very difficult to come by. Then they make it even more scary by using adhesive to attach various parts (chrome trip around the doors, for example).

Thanks for the compliment. I had ADV wheels for my GTR that were not too different from these, which I loved. Would have got another set of ADV wheels for the Tesla, but the price savings of the TSW's was massive for something of similar look and weight. I feel bad for ADV; truly an amazing wheel design company being ripped off by many others.

Unfortunately don't have too many other pics of the TSW 20" wheels. The pic of the car on the drive way has my suspension set to High. IMG_4396.JPG IMG_4420.JPG IMG_4031.JPG IMG_4032.JPG IMG_4033.JPG I have already put my 19"s with winters back on. I did find some pics of a a square 9" Silver version of the TSW Bathursts as well.

Another local customer dropped by for a set of 20x8.5 M590s in a Bespoke 3 Matte Brushed Stainless finish
The Matte Brushed Stainless finish gives the wheel a "raw brushed metal" look that I love!

hey... whats the deal here, first the side view says 245/45R20 but then the wheel on tire is labeled as 225/35R19. i cannot seem to find p7s in 20" on pirelli's own website.

A few shots of our customers cars. Along with our partner Unplugged Performance we worked with ADV1 to test fit their wheels on a Tesla.

Modifying numerous Tesla's has given us a great deal of insight into proper fitment.

We are a dealer for high quality brands such as BBS, ADV1, HRE, Rays and many others.

What is the fitment offset? They look like they fit really well.
Do Tesla center caps fit these wheels?
  • 1/1/2015
    guest
Stock offsets. They fit great as you noted. I don't know about the center caps, I didn't try. The caps they came with are powdercoated to match the wheels so I kept them. The AG branding was minimal and discrete so it doesn't bother me.

FYI - I got them from Jason at Getyourwheels.com

Agreed, the brushed finishing really gives the wheel a high end look, almost like a set of $6000+ set of forged monoblocks at a fraction of the cost!

They set in the photos are 245/40/20 Pirelli Cinturato P7 All Seasons, the tire on the ground was just used for the photo and wasn't installed.

Thanks for sharing the pics! Glad we could take care of you.
The Gloss Gunmetal was a great choice and flows well with the car. Quality winter wheels!

Tesla caps will not fit, but many of my customers have been ordering custom Tesla Centercaps to fit on these wheels that works great! I have info available if anyone needs it

We got him the 20x8.5 +30 all around with 245/40/20 Bridgestone LM-32 winter tires & OEM TPMS.
Great setup for a winter wheel/tire package!
