redp85d I was doing some reverse engineering of the seat problem and then I remembered seeing a truckload of D's yesterday...maybe this issue is now color specific. With black's still being remade and sent though they were the first to be produced.�

gg_got_a_tesla The next gen seats problem doesn't explain the delay with my car that went into production along with MarcG's on 11/25 and has textile seats! I had indicated a travel constraint as well with travel scheduled for 12/22. Not complaining though; just making an observation.

Yeah that one doesn't make sense, although we know the Recaro seats were not the only problem - just the last one they needed to solve and now catch up on short supply. Maybe you'll get your P85D on 12/21? ;-)�

P85D My P85D went into production on Friday last week and just changed 2 hours ago and says "Production CompleteYour Model S is being prepared for pickup or delivery.". With Next generation seats. How long is the prep phase?�

Boeing777 I've been a lurker until now... Time to post.
VIN 67417. MT shows "entered the production queue". "Estimated Delivery late December" in Tampa. DS has arranged for a Dec 27th delivery.
So our car isn't nearly as far down the road as many of you. Nonetheless, after asking our DS today if he still thinks that date is solid, he said "No change in your estimated delivery date as I can see". Since our car hasn't even reportedly entered production, I can't see how they will come through by Dec 27th. Further, our VIN is the third highest number on the spreadsheet. If they're truly using a sequential numbering system, there's lots of aluminum to shape before our car gets a ride on the transporter. I wouldn't be surprised to see it in January, or even February.�

andrewket Welcome to the forum! Tesla does not build in VIN order. P85D's are most definitely being prioritized for EOY delivery to maximize revenue.�

evboost I've been a quiet lurker as well. VIN 64011 for me too show in queue still. My DS has been very tight lipped about everything only has told me that I will take delivery sometime between Dec 17th and Dec 31st.
What's worse is I work about 2 miles up I-880 from the factory and drive by it very regularly. I eat lunch at a lot of same spots that the factory techs do and see lots of MS everywhere taunting me.�

FYI: my DS mentioned today that normally Canadian cars are built in the beginning of the week, but this time around Tesla has a lot of them to build for us.�

Badger1982 I've been following this thread for the last week and the production to delivery process is a complete mystery to me. My car has been "In Production" since 12/1 and still has that same status now -- 10 days later. Radio silence from my DS. I've tried to devine some correlations from the spreadsheet attached to this thread but can come up with nothing. Maybe they are simply rolling dice. Out of curiosity, are you planning to pick up in Fremont?�

Fezzik I'm right behind you. I've got 67429. My DS today said they are still on track for delivery this late december. I was told the last week. She said they get the cars in two days after it leaves the plant.

raptorweb I am also a 12/1 start/still in production and the last update that I received a few days ago was that it would likely be around the 27th. I am still crossing my fingers that it will be sooner as I sold my P85 about a month ago now so the lack of a car is starting to get old.�

AllenWong My guess from the SS is that they're trying to group the deliveries together based on delivery location. For example, a lot of the Florida deliveries (including my own) got the same Dec. 27th estimated delivery date. I see a few Fremont ones grouped together. I see a few Toronto ones grouped together. Ordered on different dates, yet still delivering around the same time. So it's probably random in terms of which location gets it first. But I can see that there's some grouping going on.�

I guess that confirms my back-of-napkin calculation that 12/27 is the earliest possible date assuming my car finishes production tomorrow, given the "longer thorough inspection" the P85D's have been getting.�

Yggdrasill It says 380 hp now for the 85D. Up from 376, but not very significantly so. If it at any point said 590 hp for the 85D, that must have been an error.�

breser The 590 hp sounds like a typo to me. But the Norwegian site is showing 700 hp for the P85D and 380 for the 85D for me. The US site shows 691 hp for the P85D and 376 hp for the 85D.
The difference is the US site is using mechanical horsepower (hp I) and the European sites use electrical horsepower (hp E).
If you've seen the US numbers before you might conclude this is an increase, when it's really not. Same horsepower, different units.�

I just noticed that my VIN has changed! I used to have a 2014 VIN (EFP67213), but now it's 2015 (FFP67213). Estimated delivery late February here in Sweden, and I do have the cold weather package so hopefully I'll get the heated steering wheel.�

lolachampcar The My Tesla page for my car has now returned to "Late January" delivery as it originally appeared. It has moved to February when seatgate was going on. Once production issues were resolved and cars were shipping, I asked Tesla to move me back to Jan and they obliged.

darthy001 a couple of hours after the design studio had norwegian prices on the morning og october 10th.
The VIN has another change in addition to the E=2014 changing to F=2015. The X before F for 2015 used to be a 1. According to vindecoderz.com that is a "Check"-value whatever that means. At least it is now X and used to be 1. According to teslarati that digit is only for algorithms to be able to verify the validity of the VIN.�

techmaven I'm at the Rockville, MD Tesla Service Center and there is a P85D here... apparently recently off a truck. The rear seats do not look like the new ones, but the option is for the Recaro Seats, Black Extended Nappa. VIN is P624xx, Grey with black wheels. Says manufactured 11/2014.�

techmaven Ok, I was wrong. There isn't one P85D here in Rockville, there are three.
P624xx, Silver, with 21" grey wheels
P623xx, Silver, with 21" silver wheels
P623xx, Grey, with 21" grey wheels
All have Recaro seat options, all appear to have it in the front, but seem to have the newer higher headrest but not-Recaro rear seats.
There is a S85 marked as a marketing car here, but these 3 do not have that same marking.�

DEinspanjer I haven't finished catching up on this thread yet, but I just had to call this particular post out and say yay. I was in the rear seat of my Tesla when someone I let drive it around the block turned out to be a blithering idiot behind the wheel. I was on the left side wearing my safety belt, but I still fractured my right shoulder and elbow.
I'm not saying I know of any safety deficiency with the old rear seats, but it makes me happy to see them working on safety improvements regardless.�

LaTache In production since Nov 25, my DS says no P85D's have been scheduled for transport yet to Chicago, but hopefully soon. Told I am shown as in late stage of production. Cannot give me a delivery date until transport is firm. Expect Chicago shipping to take 5-10 days, then needs to be prepped at SC. Fingers crossed for Dec 22, but looking more like a dream.�

Conger My Chicago car is still in the queue, but I am told it will still be here before year end. It is not a huge deal to me as it has slipped beyond my leaving town dates, so I will be picking it up after the 1st anyway, but they have assured me it would be ready for pickup before the 1st, if I want to arrange for someone else to pick up the car. For the first time in my life I will be looking forward to January in Chicago.�

I find it interesting that people have had cars go in later than the first batch that are now showing completed. My car went into production on the 24th and still shows it's in production. Two possibilities in my head- 1) Dashboard is out of whack since the delay and my car is done. 2) The early cars had issues that are still being fixed which were eliminated when later cars were going down the line.�

NOLA_Mike I just got word that my car will be delivered without the Next Generation (Recaro) seats as well. When the seats become available sometime next year they will be installed at that time.
Still no firm time table on delivery of the car in Houston though. Grrrrrrr.....�
