Laurent This is custom from the factory. I heard that they actually had it painted at Chilton Auto Body in San Carlos but I don't know for sure.
As far as I know, Tesla no longer takes requests for custom colors. You can have it repainted but that's very expensive ($15k) because they have to completely disassemble the vehicle. Or you can have it vinyl wrapped for $5k or so.
Which film did you choose? 3M Scotchprint?�

I was quoted $3.1k but that's before they've seen the car; then I hope it comes down a bit due to pano-roof.
Do you have any expertise in the area? Like how do they do the mirrors? Does the film get molded?

dsm363 Amazing looking. How did you get a custom color so late in the game? Is that a multi-coat? They should add that to the list of colors but then I guess it wouldn't be custom anymore but certainly is nice looking. My VIN is in the first 100 and they had already stopped offering it by the time they got to me. I wouldn't have done it anyway though since I'm happy with the Sig red.�

Laurent I actually started talking to Tesla about my custom color back in March of 2012. It was originally going to be for my Signature car (Sig #2) but then I asked if they could do it for my General Production car instead and they said okay.�

andrewket Took the words out of my mouth. I very much want a blue car, but Tesla's standard blue is too dark. I saw these pics and said "That's it! How do I do that?!?!" Ugh. I wonder if a few of us all wanted a different color (the same color..) if Tesla would be open to it since they could batch it.

If you really want that shade of blue you can always do a custom wrap. You can pick any color you want and it protects the actual paint of the car.

Cottonwood Tesla meets bear crap!
This is my driveway in Pagosa Springs, CO. Those are the power lines that bring electricity to the MS. My house is about a half mile up the drive, behind my MS.
I came home the night before and had to drive around the choke cherry trees that the bears had pulled down to feast on the choke cherry crop. Bears are just bulldozers when they want something. Apparently, they had been eating choke cherries for a while; the pile of bear crap probably has over a thousand choke cherry pits in it.
This morning, I walked down the drive with the dog, clippers, and bow saw to clear out the downed trees. Nothing like a house at the end of the road. :biggrin:

MartinAustin I read somewhere in this forum that they're going to be upgrading the sequence of emails & information one gets when one is ordering a car... to include photos of the car as it is passing through various spots in the manufacturing process.
If so... very cool... and yet another thingthat Tesla does that the other manufacturers don't.
Perhaps Tesla are setting up cameras around the place as they install this system, and some leaked out.�

Hi Everyone! I waited to join until I actually got my car. I picked it up Friday and I am totally in love. Here are some pictures. It's so beautiful. My pictures don't do it justice. But you guys already know that. :biggrin: The first picture shows the clouds reflecting off the hood. I didn't even notice it while I was taking it. The others are different angles. One shows it next to my Range Rover which I traded in. I loved that car for the past five years but it was time to go electric. Thanks for looking!

Laurent I have the "20x9 Ace Alloy Convex Hypersilver with Machined Accent" (link).
Dreamin had the same wheels installed on his white Model S (pictures).
The hypersilver wheels are quite shiny. I haven't seen the matte silver wheels in person but the finish might be closer to the stock Tesla wheels.�

Yes, they are Enkei Raijins 19x9.5 et 35 all around. There is a 5mm spacer up front to clear the control arm.
I did have to stagger the tire size to get them to fit up front with no rubbing. 245 45 19 front 255 45 19 rear.�

MiddKid Well, delivery was 4 weeks ago but between Seattle rain and three kids ages 9 and under aligning the stars for a sunny day and clean car was difficult. Today I got to snap some pics. Unfortunately I had to pick my daughter up from a birthday party so I had (literally) 4 minutes to do this. So I didn't get a chance to turn it around and change the light (e.g. would love a dash pic not in the shade). Also, I realized some things I would have re-shot like the fact that I didn't realize the door handles were out! Anyway, here are some pics of my Grey/Grey/Matte:
