jweinstein I received my countersigned pre-MVPA on 2/12/13. My delivery button appeared yesterday (3/6/13), but only upon inquiring on the status by phone, which I thought was peculiar. The representative basically "put" it on my dashboard. I completed the process promptly, and the delivery range is 3/22/13-4/5/13. North to Alaska comes a Tesla Model S!

Sshrivas @Apoclyps - welcome. Bunch of us in the waiting mode here for 60kwh. I'm sure you will be caught in the next batch of 60 whenever that happens. Have only seen a trickle of 60 delivery notices getting off late.
Mar 8, 2013
justaddsun I got my pre-MVPA in and back the exact same date as you and through some emails with a team leader (product specialists) regarding another question, was told that I should be getting my VIN any day now and early next week at the latest. Also, he said my car should be finished production by no later than 3/18. Standard 85, no roof here.

blaz Yeah, I have no idea what happened to my order. I saw someone on the other forum who had finalized 3 weeks after me with an almost identical configuration and got a VIN 900 numbers before me. Maybe the fact that I didn't get the pano roof pushed production out for some reason? I don't know.

Al Sherman Just in case it matters to anyone; my Paint Armor is due bill. Car is coming Tuesday the 12th. The DS said that Starshield would be in touch as far as getting it done. My feelings are in that case I'm gonna get whoever does it to do the full hood.
Also, the defrost retrofit, and the badging are NOT on there. The DS said just ask the SS to let you know when they have the parts and they'd get it done. Not freaking out or anything. I'm confident that Tesla will get this done with no problems.

Plug Me In Spoke to Benjamin, the delivery truck driver (AKA Santa Claus) a little while ago and he's bringing my baby home tomorrow! Surprisingly it's coming from Raleigh, NC. I didn't know that SC was up and running yet. I've been talking to the folks in Wash, DC and Rockville. I was getting a little frustrated because I wanted a delivery day to decide if I should just go ahead and pick the car up in Rockville and turns out it wasn't even there!
I live in Lynchburg, VA. Benjamin is delivering another one in Roanoke, VA before he comes my way. He's a funny guy apparently. He calls me up and says "I have good news and bad news, which do you want first?" With a sinking feeling I tell him to just lay it on me. He replies "The goods news is there is no bad news, I'm bringing your Tesla tomorrow!"
FYI: Vin 5990 Delivery window 3/6-3/20.

Mar 11, 2013
Al Sherman Very nice! Tesla seems to be right on schedule with a few minor but "noticeable" exceptions. If you've already been contacted by a Product Specialist my guess is the next contact will be an email and/or phone call from a Delivery Specialist. More than likely "Ross" from Chicago. A delightful and motivated hard working guy. He'll tell you that your car is ready and ask you when and where you want it. My guess is they'll be right on the money. I'll take the under on March 25th. Congrats!
Mar 11, 2013
hershey101 So I just checked the mobile app, and I got my VIN # 7128...
My delivery specialist contacted my last week for setting up a delivery date, but I was having trouble getting financing (Bethpage Credit Union in Long Island worked out in the end) so almost had to cancel my reservation. The weekend was quite a mess, I got a call from someone on the Delivery team saying that they wouldn't give me my deposit back, or let me transfer it to another reservation number. I was extremely frusterated because my Delivery Specialist, the person I had been in contact with in Financing, and the store manager where I put down my deposit had told me the exact opposite. So I emailed Elon, who replied in less than 2 hours, and said that they should be able to transfer my deposit to another reservation number.
Luckily though, I spoke to the manager at Bethpage CU today morning and was able to get a loan for $100,000 72-months @ 2.71% within minutes. So now my car is being built, and its expected to arrive on the East coast by the 21st. I'm going to be away, and plan on taking delivery on 4/19 so photos, and a complete writeup will be posted in about a month and half.
Here is my timeline in case anyone is curious.
1/11/13- Visited Tesla Showroom for the first time ever!
1/12/13- Test drove the Model S performance with my parents
1/14/13- Put down $5,000 deposit and reserved my car: Res. # 18,278
2/04/13- Got my 'Finalize' button, built my car: Awesome, I also received my finalize button today.
Got the finalize button at 8:34PM, Reservation #18,278. Finalized my car at 9:42
Tesla Model S Performance, Pearl White, All Glass Panoramic, Carbon Fiber Spoiler, 19" Wheels, Tan Interior, Carbon Fiber Decor, Tech Package, Sound Package, Paint Armor, Twin Chargers + High Power Wall Connector.
Initial delivery window: March/April
2/10/13- Received my Delivery button... Delivery Estimate March 13-March 27
3/07/13- Received call from Delivery Specialist saying that the car would be on the East Cost ready for pickup by 3/21.
3/11/13- Acquired financing for the vehicle, and pushed back delivery date to 4/19 since I'll be traveling.

jayfrost Hello all,
I just picked up my Model S P85 from the Columbus Ohio Service Center. Of course it is pouring rain today, but the experience was awesome. Real pictures will follow if the rain ever lets up. I did not have a DS at the site, but Dave the service manager was awesome. In addition, Tim from the Chicago store did a complete walk-thru over the phone. We spent over an hour going over every feature. There were a total of 6 Model S at the center, but none were for Ohio. Indiana, Pennsylvania and Kentucky. Another thing, there were 4 black P85, one Blue and one White. I noticed that of 4 out of 6 cars had badges. Mine did not, but Dave said he would get one in for me. Not sure if I will install it, but still would like the option. Now I must get off the computer and go play!

Marcus65o2 Thanks for the information. I called and got a little more info today. Looks like my vehicle is leaving CA in the next 48 hours. After that, it's a 5-6 day drive to the Ohio service center then a few days of preping. After that, it's coming home. Looks like it will be at my house the week of 3/25.
Mar 12, 2013
apaloma The car showed up in my app this morning. I'd been checking a couple times in the morning and a couple times in the evening for the last few days. I checked at 9am (PDT) and it wasn't there. At 10am it was. Up until then, the app had been telling me that no cars were attached to the account (even without having to login again), but then today it stopped saying that and just gave me the login screen. I logged in and got the usual "remote access is off" message.
So I emailed my DS and asked if there were any updates on the car. She called and said it had reached the end of the production line and would probably be on a truck to the service center in the next couple days.
Woot!

Mar 16, 2013
Al Sherman Your frustration is understandable. What IS your configuration? Do you still WANT the car?
Mar 16, 2013
dsm363 If you do have standard suspension as LuckyLuke said then that explains it. Their communication could have been better from the start. Was in known that standard suspension would be later than air suspension when you finalized? I know they weren't expecting April at that time maybe.
I see, you do have standard suspension
Anybody else with standard suspension get this email?
Mar 16, 2013
dsm363 There are many things we didn't know in the beginning and that have shifted over time during the transition from reservations to production. I was told I'd have my car in late 2011 when I reserved for example. This is frustrating but part of the nature of a start up company building their first car (on their own) and ramping up production. They shouldn't make you pay the increase from the price change if you want to add the air suspension though. The reservations were never a guarantee of exact order of delivery. It is natural for someone to look at a reservation number thousands of numbers behind them and wonder why they are getting their car before them.

Doug Martoccia My notes show that sequence #4271 (60), #6682 (60) and #13184 (85) have standard suspensions and delivery dates this month. (If this is incorrect, please correct me) I also believe that #15617 (85/Standard) expects delivery next week. Standard suspensions are certainly a very rare option, it's likely that less than 5% of all Model S orders are in the standard suspension configuration. I only know of one person #1454 that may have been promised delivery in March. From my perspective, Telsa does not appear to have significantly broken any promises with respect to delivery of Model S cars with standard suspension. I really don't see any reason to be upset at how these deliveries are progressing - you will get you car soon - please let us know how the drive compares to the air option!

John Peterson will weep.
Mar 19, 2013
Clprenz Based off of numbers, they need to deliver only cars up to 7150 to meet the quoted 4500. So since they are giving estimated delivery of car 8800, for 3.28-4.11 they are going to crush that and go to at least 7800 cars delivered total so I would think that They are secretly up to 475+ cars a week. the average car price I think is now irrelevant since they are batching, I think they did: 3 weeks of 60's and 9 weeks of 85's (P85's too). And believe it our not, based off of 380 responses, 40% of 85's are Performance. meaning average car Delivered was: 91,941 with options for tesla and after tax credit, 84,440. Revenue would be about 475 million. looking great

jkirkebo Thanks for the data point. Production seems to have risen above expectations. Feb.28th the highest VIN to appear in the app was 6533. Now 8204 is 1671 cars in 21 days or 79.5 per day. 79.5*7=557 cars per week(!).
If we calculate for a 5 day week instead the number is still 557 cars per week. Quite a bit above 400.
I do not think the Feb.28th VIN was low since the Feb.5th VIN was 4874. That was 1659 cars in 23 days in February, or 505 per day.
If we do an average of ~525 car per week and use 12 weeks in Q1 (week 1 the factory did not operate) we get 6300 cars made in Q1. Probably fewer delivered, somewhere about 5500-6000 would be my guess.

Mnlevin Interesting information. Is this something TESLA has put out there and how do we get to see it? Also, I noticed there are many reservation numbers that are skipped,is there a reason for that or are they cancelled? Some deliveries dont have the specs, wonder why? I think I found my reservation at line 95, but not all the information is accurate, like I did order the Pano roof not listed and it doesnt show the city only the state. Mostly interested in how to find this kind of information. Thanks
Mar 25, 2013
Clprenz He got that info from people posting it on here
Mar 25, 2013
Mnlevin Holy SMOKES, he assembled all that information from trolling these blogs and gathering the information. That is a full time job! UNREAL
Mar 25, 2013
zero emish I ordered my model S a month ago and my salesperson and the website said I could expect delivery in 6 weeks. I emailed to follow up and the reply was that I could expect it in early June (that would make it 12+ weeks in total). On this chat I see people getting it MUCH sooner... what determines the order? I ordered a 60kw...
The telephone support person said they are building the 85kw and once a month pepper in the 60kw's... is this right? On top of that my buddy's model S just came in and he no longer wants it so I offered to take that one instead and they agreed but only if I pay the higher price (base model was $2500 more when I ordered than when he did)...
So far not impressed with the experience. Seems like an over-promise, under-deliver.
Mar 25, 2013
jimhoughton Standard Suspension Drive Experience
So, how does the standard suspension car drive? I have an 85kwh with std suspension to be delivered by early April. My original window was March 13 -27 and I now have a VIN. Haven't read anyone who has actually taken one out for a spin yet.
Mar 25, 2013
Mnlevin I have been waiting in the cue for 18 months so dont get so upset. Yes the 85s have very high priority right now because of the quarter financial reporting, so they are selling the MOST profitable cars right now. I firmly believe that they will begin following the sequencing once the quarter is done. They told me my 60kwh with STD suspension would be built Apr 8, and I have a res number 4172. So take a number and wait patiently. BTW, if you bought at the old price and are satisfied, then just wait it out or take your buddies car, but he could probably sell it at a slight profit at this point.
Mar 25, 2013
Doug Martoccia It wasn't that hard. Another guy got it started and quit updating about six weeks ago. He was much more dedicated than I am - he would press folks to provide information to fill in the blanks. I just kinda ended up taking over.
I'm waiting for my Red 60, so this little project keeps me busy while I'm reading the blogs. (And attempts to answer all the questions from my wife concerning when the Model S will arrive) The information flow slowed down considerably after mid-Feb, so there is less and less information to update each week and it's getting more spotty. I think everyone who reserved in 2013 is getting their cars so quickly that they don't have any time to obsess.
Thanks for everyone that has helped contribute to this noble effort.
Mar 25, 2013
Mnlevin well you are doing a hell of a job, I guess the spreadsheet will die with your delivery. I think I have hope that mine will really come in the next 3-4 weeks. Spoke to Sara again today, and while they pushed my end of line date from Apr 1 to Apr 10 if she is no a BS artist, then the car may be in S FL before the end of April. BTW, went by the Dania showroom and they have 8 cars sitting in front I guess waiting for the new owers. SICK
Mar 26, 2013
xhawk101 Might you share Sara s contact info? Private if you wish ...I am looking at early april line with vin next week on 5810 red and hungry for more details
from my Samsung galaxy s3
Mar 26, 2013
Mnlevin See below, but I would not start with her, she was the one who contacted me with the wrong information originally. When I got frustrated I called TESLA directly and told them I was considering cancelling. They forwarded me to a "ownership satisfaction team" or something like that where I spoke to SEAN. I told him I needed some concrete facts as I cannot wait indefinately for a car, as I was using my daughters car at this point, and I would just cancel and buy something else. They went up the line, and told me that my cars PARTS were all ready and it would go to the assembly line the last week of March, with completion on Apr 1. Sara later called to verify that all was well and we would wait, she assured me the information was correct. Since then I have gotten no further information so I sent SARA an email yesterday saying Apr 1 is nearing and I still dont have anything. She called me back late in the day and said the car is scheduled for end of line Apr 10. When I told her that was later than what they said the last time she assured me this is accurate. At this point I really dont believe anything they tell us and will only wait. But if I dont hear anything by Apr 10, I will most definately cancel the order and maybe buy a TESLA in 3 or 4 years from now. So dont call her, if you want to get mentally massaged call the main line, and ask for the ownership/customer satisfaction team.

montgom626 I just let Tesla do their thing. I never emailed, or called to ask about when my MS would be done. Why bother to harass anyone over a car. In my case, everything worked out just fine.
Mar 26, 2013
UMD86 I did the same thing. They would call when they were ready to deliver. BUT.......I will call about the HPWC. I can't drive it as much with the 110v. It has taken 2 days for a full charge. Not good.
Mar 26, 2013
ViperDoc You might want to consider just putting in a NEMA 14-50 220v outlet. That is what we did, and charging is plenty fast. My Roadster has the 70amp charger, but I actually turn down the amperage in the car so it charges slower.
As far as all the worrying about the waiting, we waited for our Signature for a long time. It took longer to come than initially predicted when we placed our order long, long before the first one came off the line. If the car isn't worth the wait, then it isn't worth the wait. We were willing to tie up the deposit on a Signature because we drank the Kool-Aid. Others might feel more entitled, and immediate gratification is the modern way, and it is perhaps frustrating when Christmas keeps being pushed further out, but it will eventually comeI do think this one is worth the wait.

xhawk101 Is it true that logging into the tesla app is quickest way to see if you have a VIN?
Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
Mar 26, 2013
TheAustin Is there any reason that you turn the amperage down? I have the HPWC for convenience (I park outdoors, so charging with the "travel charger" was annoying as I had to run the cord under a door, whereas the HPWC is now mounted outside permanently)...However, I don't "need" to charge as fast as it can. I'm just wondering if there are any benefits to charging slower.
Mar 26, 2013
rlpm 42 days reservation to end of delivery window must be some kind of record. And you might even get it before then!
Red/60kWh/40kWh/springs/outside-North-America customers, please look away!
Mar 26, 2013
jkirkebo Thanks. Wow, the pace is really picking up now. 2359 VINs have appeared in the app this month (recorded VIN 6533 Feb.28th), corresponding to a production rate of a whopping 635 cars per week
But the supplier pipeline can't be very long with production this quick. 8 days from MVPA to car well into production? They must just have ordered a bunch of parts they assumed they'd need, or they are cherry picking which cars to make depending on which parts they have coming in the next few days.
- - - Updated - - -
No, you can get it much earlier by phone or email. The VIN doesn't appear in the app until the car is well into production. Thus is it a nice way to track production rate.
