Tesla Roadster vanity license plates part 1

Maybe on a European license plate, but it would never fit in the USA.
  • Mar 11, 2009

It would fit here in VA !!!! hummmmm....

Rheazombi has lots of good suggestions.

A variant on SHOCKNG might be SCHKNG, or perhaps SHOCKER or SCHKR, though this might get misinterpreted by high school kids.

Do you get AAA insurance and roadside assistance with that?
  • Mar 12, 2009
    Kevin Harney
That brings up an interesting question. Will AAA adopt a system that will allow you to charge your battery enough to get you limping home if necessary as they will give you a couple gallons of gas ?
  • Mar 12, 2009
    TEG
That is probably up to the individual towing companies.
I have not heard of, and doubt there are any tow services with specialized EV equipment yet.
  • Mar 12, 2009
    Palpatine
That is a good one. I like it Dave.
There was no need for the big secret on that one.

"AC POWR" ties in well with the whole Nikola Tesla thing...
  • Mar 17, 2009
    Palpatine
The problem is, most people would think "AC POWR" is a reference to his air conditioning system.

  • Mar 17, 2009

Yes, exactly:rolleyes:. No, it's supposed to be MY TSLA S, or 'my tesla model S'. I drew in dots between the words/letter with a permenant marker to clarify. Hope that's not illegal.
  • Mar 17, 2009

That's our Roadster! Cathy and I brainstormed on possible plates for months before finding one we really liked that wasn't already taken. We were very happy when the plates arrived just in time to debut them at the owner drive on Sunday.

That photo is more awesome work from Scott Ferguson getting lots of attention. It's currently featured on Tesla's web page for the Seattle store. We're honored that he chose our car for that portrait.

Those pictures on your site are great. Thanks Tom. It's very helpful to see Roadster of different colors parked next to each other. It's tough to get a good idea of what it actually looks like from Tesla's site so real pictures are very helpful.
Does anyone think a sticky thread/gallery with photos from people's car's would be a good idea with a description of color/leather combo?

    Dave

edit: I guess the paint color discussion mostly serves that purpose
  • Sep 23, 2009

And... color on the web is a crapshoot. No, wait, it's worse. It's getting better very, very slowly.
  • Sep 24, 2009

Tesla was doing that in the first year. Shooting pictures of all sorts of customer color combinations coming out of the factory. I think it's an owner only page so you can choose for locking in.

Driving back from camping on Highway 9, I saw a Roadster, then a little later a RAV4 EV with license plate "MOBL OHM".

Ironically a couple minutes later a big Suburban drove by with license plate "SUKS GAS".

My second sighting this week. This time it's #176, which I'd spotted before (in the exact same place -- downtown San Mateo). This time, though, it's got a vanity plate. It would seem the owner has solar panels at his home.

My iPhone camera sucks and you can't read it in this picture (nevermind how I was bouncing along in the passenger seat of my friend's car, hehe) , but the plate here is "ECO RUBY"

This was on 101 South in the Bay Area between South San Francisco and San Bruno near the 380. I suppose this could've gone in the Random Sightings thread, but I don't remember seeing this plate here so I thought I'd use this thread.

    "ONEGEAR"
    "SNGLSPD" - Single Speed

    Because the Roadster is awesome:
    "AWSMEV"- Awesome EV

Various power references, from it being clean to the 0 RPM torque:
    "PUREPWR"
    "CLENPWR" - Clean Power
"ALLPWR" - In reference to the 0 RPM torque
    "0RPMPWR" - Similar to above

    Since "NOGAS" is already taken:
    "NOPTRL" - No petrol

Here's a photo of my stable of two seaters.

    The Roadster is faster

But the Remos G-3 gets me off the ground. Intentionally, that is

The personalized Colorado Carbon Fund plates read "I SQR R". I saw the Washington state plates with that rubric and had to have it for mine, too. You can't see it in this photo, but the interior is saddle leather, a classy combo with the racing green exterior.

Minor picky privacy issue ... which may or may not amount to nothing ... they are standard issue plates. And I guess a "whiting out" on the custom vanity plates would defeat the purpose of publishing them in this thread ... but I thought at least the frames were still worth showing on the standard plates ... Hope that sort of makes sense ?
