Tesla has pulled off something unimaginable not so long ago... Creating huge demand for electric vehicles. So much so that people would wait in line to order sight unseen.

All the people waiting in SLC were kind enough to ICE the superchargers. You would think they would know better.

/edit should add there's plenty of non-supercharging parking available. Dunno why they parked in the SC spots.
Update 2, tesla employee just asked people to move cars from supercharger spots.

Scottsdale Fashion Square has about 110 at 7:17a.

Mall security will not allow a line and disassembled line queue that Tesla set up. Amazingly, someone brought a roll of tickets and handed them out to all in line. If you are arriving now, look for the guy handing out tickets.

I got my reservation done at the Ross Park Mall (Pittsburgh) this morning!

I showed up at 6:30. I was third in line. Mall opens to mall walkers at 8.
At 7:55 am, we had 7 in line.
At 8:50, we had 25 in line.
At 9:16, we had 38 in line.
    At 9:49, I counted 58 in line.
At 10:00, the Paul Blarts moved us up to the Tesla kiosk in groups, and I got my reservation done, nice and neat, around 10:08, give or take a couple minutes.

There were 3 Tesla people with iPads, taking the orders.

Then, after 3-1/2 long hours of standing in line, it was time for Chick-Fil-A! I went upstairs and got some to take home.

As I walked out past the line, I counted from where I had left off before. We had fully 90 people in line at that time, around 10:25 or so.

I'll be watching the news tonight for reports on how many Model 3's were reserved. And I'll watch this topic to see if anyone posts a photo with me in it. :D

As I walked out past the line, the chief mall cop said the Tesla site crashed, so the Tesla people were waiting for it to come back up.

Tesla should have created a "Reserve your Model 3" mobile app.

    1. Load the app
    2. Populate it with all the information Tesla wants from you and press OK.
    3. The app displays a barcode for the Tesla personnel to scan.
    4. Processing time is 2 seconds per person instead of 30x that. Lines move blazingly fast.

I want to order two for my adult children and one for myself. I contacted the KC store yesterday and was told that my son can order three, but has to do two, then get back in line to order the third. He can also only pay for two at one time, and would have to pay for the two at one time (not two different transactions). Each transaction will be for each person (different email addresses and names) because that is the way we want it but also because you can't transfer reservations. My son at the store will pay for all three, so you can pay for someone else's reservation. This is what I was told; he hasn't tried to do that yet, but will this afternoon when he can get to the store.

The manager of the store was awestruck by the response and wasn't expecting so many people to be there so early, when he first went in to open up.
