Again, I just went through about 20% of the MCRs P90DLs and they are all still listed for sale. And as I said, if they just have deposits on them, they will still appear as listed (which is why the section is labeled as 'experimental') and the listing are most likely taken down as the deals are actually closed. So again, I don't think you can say "they're all sold". There are 70s MCR P90DLs listed -- there weren't 70 people jumping on the low lease deals in that thread.

Any of those cars need to have been listed on the "Inventory" pages at least once in order to be picked up. There's clearly unlsited inventory that they are showing for "inventory matches" that aren't listed on the "Inventory" site. There's no way for me to pick those up.

You can look at the first car listed -- DSB in Pennsylvania. Not listed on the "New Inventory" site.

I just tried to put deposits down on about 10, all are gone (got the dreaded "Something went wrong" error when I clicked Buy and attempted to place a deposit). My only hope is a deposit falls through on one ore more of these, so I can jump on it. Or that the only one left locally that fits my criteria gets a further price reduction to move the car.

Will still have my eyes and ears glued to the ev-cpo site!

There may not have been 70 people discussing the cars in that thread, but there were a lot of people that jumped on the lowest priced P90DLs. I've been in communication with 3 different OA's and they confirmed that all of the sub $1000/month P90DLs are sold/leased. They seriously went like hotcakes.

It's good to see *something* different happens.

Yesterday I tried clicking "buy" on about 5 and it worked, but I wasn't going to actually make a deposit.

Like I always say "experimental"!! :)

There are 3 P85+'s listed that all most likely have AP. V VIN's higher than 52K
  • Aug 30, 2016
    HankLloydRight
Is Tesla enabling AP on all CPOs? These cars probably have the AP hardware (based on VIN), but I think would require physical confirmation before assuming they have AP hardware. If the AP was enabled, I'd expect Tesla to be listing them as such. Caveat Emptor.
  • Aug 30, 2016
    lakerholic
You can click "buy" on any of them. It's after you enter all your information and click the purchase button at the end that the error occurs.

As you said, experimental means just that. Still grateful for the site!

Hank - The way it is looking now, if you sort on the right-hand column (date/time) it is sorting on alpha and not on proper date/time format. So, 8/29 4Pm, then 8/29 4Am, then 8/29 3Pm and then 8/29 3Am, etc. Not PMs first then AMs next if DESC sorting.
  • Aug 30, 2016
    HankLloydRight
What browser are you using? I've seen this before with different browsers.

I've also considered removing the time altogether because it's not all that important, whereas the date listed is.
  • Aug 30, 2016
    Pando
IE 11 (Win10) doesn't sort properly. The times as they are currently displayed are confusing. 01pm looks just weird. It almost looks like 24hr notation but there is the am/pm added.

I'd say make them hh:mm in 24hr format (only one extra : character needed, only very minimal additional horizontal space needed).

    sort.jpg
  • Aug 30, 2016
    HankLloydRight
I used to have it in 24h format, but that wasn't very user friendly.

Also, the hour a car was added in Dec/2015? Not really useful information.

    I'll just take it out.
  • Aug 30, 2016
    Pando
I agree, but it would still be somewhat useful if it sorted by the actual date AND time, not just randomly based on the displayed column. In other words, sort by the queried datetime field, not by the formatted text string that is displayed (if your web table grid module allows it).

This is of course only useful for new entries posted recently.

In order to speed up the page loading of the home page, for Premium members, I moved the ever growing "Hidden" car section to its own page, just like the "History" section. It's also now broken out into separately loadable sections so you only need to load the particular section you are interested in.

    upload_2016-8-30_18-11-35.png

You'll now see a link for 'Hidden Cars' under the 'Member's Area" section.
  • Aug 30, 2016
    lakerholic
Nice work. So, just confirming, once the orders are "processed" some of these cars in the hidden inventory section will fall off, correct? And similarly, there could be cars that come on to the hidden inventory section that have just not officially been placed into the public inventory section?
  • Aug 30, 2016
    HankLloydRight
That's my understanding on the first part.

For the second part, for a car to be found as "hidden" it had to have showed up on the public listings at least once, and then removed. It could be removed because it was sold, or moved to a demo/loaner status, or they just decided to de-list it. But then at some point, the car's detail page becomes active again (has a 'buy' button) but isn't relisted. That's why I call them 'hidden'. It's not possible for hidden car to just show up without being on the public site at least once and captured by EV-CPO.
  • Aug 30, 2016
    Pando
Aaah, thanks, that makes sense now. I wasn't entirely clear on how could your system pull this "hidden" inventory without it being listed. You're saving the original link when it's first listed and then checking it for updated status later.
  • Aug 30, 2016
    HankLloydRight
    Yup.
  • Sep 1, 2016
    HankLloydRight
Ok, as we were talking about the 'hidden' cars, Tesla just went through and purged about 750 of those cars.. there are now only about 86 "hidden" cars still listed for sale.
  • Sep 1, 2016
    Skione65
    @HankLloydRight,

What do you mean by 'purge'? Removed them? What do they do with those purged vehicles?

They finally reconciled the cars that actually had been sold with the 'hidden' listings that made it appear that these cars were still for sale.

Small bug. In Europe, a car may show up as a mileage of "3 172 km"

    Model S P90D 5YJSA7E40GF136117 | Tesla France

But in your list, shows up as "3" - that space is being treated as termination. I guess look for the km and take all tokens, ignoring whitespace?
  • Sep 1, 2016
    Skione65
    @HankLloydRight,

Ah....thanks for the clarification. I remember clicking afew buys and getting the "something went wrong" response.....that explains it.

    Ski
  • Sep 1, 2016
    HankLloydRight
Thanks. There were a few like that, now fixed.

I have code to parse the miles (or KM) from all the European countries, including the space in France (I actually remove that space and other characters in two different places). I think the ones you found were added several months ago before I had that code. But that really shouldn't happen going forward.

    New feature announcement for EV-CPO.com!

I've now added a "Real Time Listing Feed" section, so you can now watch any changes that occur to the database in (almost) real time.

There's a new section called "Real Time Listing Feed" that when open, shows you a scrolling list of the most recent changes, including:
    • - New Listings
    • - Price changes (up or down)
    • - Sold cars that have been relisted
    • - Hidden cars that are now listed
    • - Location changes

There are three separate feeds, one each for United States, Canada, and Europe. Click the button for each Region. Also, there's no need to reload/refresh the webpage, it automatically grabs new updates on every cycle through the listings.

There's also a slider bar for you to change the scrolling speed if it goes to fast or slow for you.

You can click on any car image to be taken directly to the Tesla Motors detail page for all the options and more photos of each car, and of course, the "Buy Now" button.

This feature is open to everyone -- no subscription or login necessary!

    Enjoy!
  • Sep 2, 2016
    Pando
This is pretty cool! Would you be able to add a date in front of the time? It's scrolling, but without knowing the date it's confusing.

    >>10:30 pm -- Model S Trim...
    >>4:40 am -- Model S
    >>9:00 am -- Model X Trim:...
    >>3:07 pm -- Model S Trim: S85 VIN:....

Minor (?) Enhancement request for those who may enjoy it.

From the main list page, Trim level shows P90D, P100D and so on. However, if you are parsing the options list, could you "sniff out" Ludicrous mode option and actually list out the P90DL and P100DL right on the list-page in the trim option selector?
  • Sep 2, 2016
    HankLloydRight
Yeah, that's because there's not a lot of data yet..(just yesterday and today).

I'll probably clear it out each morning so it only shows changes "today", depending on how many changes we see per day.

But if not, I'll add a date.
  • Sep 2, 2016
    HankLloydRight
    I'll look into it, sure.
  • Sep 2, 2016
    HankLloydRight
I put in a "today"/"yesterday" indicator. I don't think keeping data more than two days would be desirable. But for slow days, it will still show something. Thanks.
  • Sep 2, 2016
    Pando
    Perfect - much better! Thanks!
  • Sep 2, 2016
    HankLloydRight
Since I don't think I've seen Tesla officially use the P90DL as a named trim option, I've only seen 'P90D w/Ludicrous mode' (or 'P100D w/ludicrous'), I don't want to start doing exception coding creating a new trim designation (or what Tesla calls 'badges' internally) than what already officially exists.

So what I did was remove the "Supercharging Enabled" column, and replaced it with a "Ludicrous enabled" Y/N column, so you can easily filter on just cars with Ludicrous mode.

Thanks for the sharp eye. About 13 of those came across coded incorrectly from Tesla's site. I've correct the errors. You can see it here, in Ohio, Preowned, Solid Black, it's listed as just "85", but the same car as a P85+ on the detail page:

    upload_2016-9-3_13-58-19.png

    upload_2016-9-3_13-58-24.png
  • Sep 3, 2016
    HankLloydRight
I've also added exception code to handle this in the future if P85+s are mis-coded as 85s.

I'm kinda surprised at how these errors slip through -- you'd think they'd be using the same source database for these pages and mis-codings like this wouldn't happen.

But at least there are people like yourself who are quick to find and point these things out!
  • Sep 3, 2016
    steveho
Wow! That's fast. So it looks like it is a problem on Tesla's site that they initially publish as an S85, then change it later to a P85?
  • Sep 3, 2016
    HankLloydRight
It's just an inconsistency in their data stream. They didn't later change it to anything.. it's still listed incorrectly on the listing page as an S85, but on the detail page as a P85+. So they're pulling that data from two different sources, and obviously one of them is wrong.

Are lulls in the introduction of new CPOs common, or has something changed with the CPO market? Seems like it has slowed to a trickle...
  • Sep 6, 2016
    HankLloydRight
Yes, it comes and goes. There might be an uptick towards the end of the quarter, or a set of price decreases.

You can now watch the "Real Time Listing Feed" a few times a day to see any new listings for the current or previous days.

I've now set up feeds for US, Canada, and Europe, as well as each individual country in Europe:
    • Austria
    • Belgium
    • France
    • Germany
    • Great Britain
    • Netherlands
    • Norway
    • Sweden
    • Switzerland

    Cyclone
Back in the early days of the S CPO program, there were a number of cars that turned out to be different than the spec sheet provided (+ suspension, color, other options). The running theory was that the spec sheets were built from the original order, but weren't updated when a user changed their order within the grace period. Maybe Tesla updated the detail page to use the finalized order information from their records, but never updated the summary page to do the same?
  • Sep 6, 2016
    HankLloydRight
Whatever it is, it's a strange thing to happen. Maybe when the CPO program was first starting out they had two disparate databases and didn't have the resources to consolidate them. But now? Both the summary pages and the detail pages should be pulling data from ONE master source. The fact that it isn't and the data disagrees (in many other ways besides this), is a really shoddy design. Like I said, I could forgive it early on ("it works, push it to production!"), but with the traffic they're getting now? WTF?

Just added a few new features.

First, the page now loads each section "on demand", so you don't have to wait for the entire page to load. It loads much quicker now. If you are logged in, the page automatically loads the first section "Tesla Model S U.S. CPO/Preowned". Later today or tomorrow I'll be adding code to remember your last opened section, and automatically open up that section when you return.

Second, and what most of you will appreciate, everyone who registers now gets to activate a free one-week trial of the 'Premium' features. You can choose to activate this at whatever time you wish, and once you do, your account will have all 'Premium' features for one week. After that week is up, you can then choose to subscribe for more if you like. In order to activate your free trial, just open up the "Subscription Info" section and click the link to activate.

Any existing 'Premium' members can use this same link and it will extend your membership by one week.

Just a note -- once you click 'Activate' you will still need to refresh the page once more to see the Premium options and additional columns in all the tables. You'll see a link to do that once your account free trial is activated.

    As always, enjoy!

It's New Feature Friday again for all you lease hunters out there.

I've now added the estimated lease payments from the Tesla site for each U.S. Inventory Model S and Model X listed.

Look for the "Lease Pmt" column on the S and X Inventory sections. No membership is required, but only logged in accounts can see the Lease Payment field, so you will need to register a free account to see them.

You can also 'hover' the mouse over the estimated lease payment to popup all the other lease terms.

What's interesting is that on the Model S inventory pages, Tesla is including the $7,500 Fed Tax credit in the price amounts between "before" and "after" discounted price. But for the Model X inventory cars, they are either pre-deducting the Fed Tax credit from the listed price, or they are not deducting it at all (I suspect the former). So for Model X, there only seems to be a $1000 difference between the before and after discount prices (that's from the referral discount). For Model S, it includes both. It's strange that they would treat these differently.

Also, the site now remembers your 'last opened' section and automatically opens that section when you return, so you don't have to wait for any particular section to load if you don't want to see it.

It's Friday, you know what that means. ;)

I've added another feature on https://EV-CPO.com to allow you to create custom charts of average sales price, units sold (or on sale), and Days on Market.

There are 13 different ways to customize the graphs to analyze whatever interests you. Here's just one example:

    [?IMG]

Please give it a shot and let me know what you think!

As before, no subscription required. Access the Charting page directly here: EV CPO Consolidator ev-cpo.com

This is just the first step -- if you can think of any other metrics I can include, or other ways to customize the graphs, please let me know.

    Thanks and enjoy!

Thank you so much for this website, so helpful. Why doesn't Tesla itself have such a page? I called them and asked where I could find a list of the cars near me in inventory, they said it was not on the web and I'd have to speak with a salesman. I spoke with a salesman and he said he'd email me a list of "the 3 or 4 inventory cars closest" to what I'm looking for, but I never received anything. Was about to give up when I found your site.

One question: Is "Florida" as specific as it gets? No one to refine to one city?

    Thanks again!
  • 1/1/2015

A couple of comments. First, there could be many inventory cars that Tesla does not list on their public website, and the local sales advisors should have access to all the cars in their system. And EV-CPO can only access cars they list on their site. So if your SA is giving you the run around and not showing you all the cars, find another SA or go to another store/gallery. Some people have found very helpful SAs around -- find someone who is willing to work with you, not against you!

Second, why Tesla doesn't have a page like this? I don't know, I can only guess. First, I think their staffing is pretty minimal when it comes to their website. Second, it's a conflict of interest and corporate culture -- the corporate culture is to hold everything close to their chest, and only give out just enough information as necessary... but to sell cars, they should be transparent! Luckily, recently Tesla has been listing a lot more inventory online, so that's a good thing for everyone. But still, it's probably not every CPO or Inventory car they have.

Florida? I have no idea which service center (or centers) has these cars -- your local SA should be able to tell you that.

    Good luck!

    Thanks for the reply.

"there could be many inventory cars that Tesla does not list on their public website"
I did not know that any inventory cars were listed on their public website, and the SA did not tell me they are listed on the website, but after seeing your comment I rechecked, and sure enough they do have a list, need to first click on the model type. But they don't list used vehicles as you do, or do they?

"if your SA is giving you the run around and not showing you all the cars, find another SA or go to another store/gallery."
I actually tried that and they said I was stuck with the first guy I spoke with, even though he is in another city quite far from me. Maybe if I made a stink about it they'd let me switch, or maybe easier to create a new account with a new name and email.

    Hank,

It seems that the listing is nice and clean, but I can no longer filter by my preferred criteria: P85, pano, RFS, SAS, audio, then I sort by price.

Is there a way I can still do this?

So much awesome!!!! I was manually tracking this info for cars I was interested in to see what price trends were doing. Now I can see the trend in just a few clicks!!!

Now if I was really shooting for the moon, it would be cool if you could somehow chart sold/removed cars that met an alert criteria. This could be a new subscriber feature since alerts are a premium feature, but it would be super handy to quickly know if a particularly optioned car was a "good deal" when it pops on an alert.
