Just as an extra data point, my page still says April - Early May (same as before) and is still visible, not hidden. AZ delivery.

Sounds like we'll have identical cars. You're about 1000 ahead of me in VIN though so makes sense you'll get yours about a month sooner.

I was able to finally reach my DS after a week of trying :) but he is a nice guy and he was able to confirm for me that this delivery estimate I see on myTesla saying March 24-31 is true and I should get ready for my delivery by the end of the month! Wow! So now when confirmed by DS I am ready to start getting financing paperwork rolling.

Really happy for you - so this comment is not negative toward you, but I find it offensive that I have the same delivery date and I reserved 3 years before you, confirmed my order 3 months before yours, and have a Performance model.

Sorry to vent, but today is my day of frustration. #feelingleftout Wish I could share in the excitement everyone else is experiencing.

I agree with you that you should get yours at least 3 moths (or more) ago... I did not reserve mine to avoid such frustration of misfire of first production cars and delays... I am sure you will love the car and driving it once you get it soon! Hopefully you forget about frustration after you drive away from SC.

Hi Everybody - I have a 90D with VIN 26xx received 3/7 like many here. My source code initially said March/April, but when I looked today that information was no longer there. Moreover, my Tesla page does not specify a delivery window like many of you are seeing. Soooooo - I called my DS! SUPER nice guy (Los Angeles delivery). He took a look and told me my car will go into production late March/early April, and advised I go ahead and submit my Tesla lease online at this time. So for those out there in despair 1) I totally feel your pain (I reserved Jan 2013) and 2) maybe reach out to your DS - he/she might have really good news for you :)

I just refreshed the mytesla page and my VIN18XX now says delivery scheduled for March 24 -31st. I just sent my DS an email that I would not be ready until May

Interesting - I just refreshed my page and now it says April/Early May (it was blank before that). I'm thinking that date (or later) is much more likely than the March/early April time frame my DS gave me (he was probably being optimistic). Does anybody know if I apply for my lease now and the application expires before the car is ready - does anything bad happen?

Why are you delaying?

Yesterday I was May - Early June. Then it disappeared. Now showing April - Early May. Vin 04888

So for the past few days mine has said April - Early May, including this afternoon, but I just checked and now it says March 24 - 31 which is crazy. April - May seemed way more realistic, but that would be pretty cool if accurate.

My Vin 21XX is showing Late March - April estimated delivery. Given that's right around the corner I sent off a note to my DS. She replied promptly(within half an hour) stating my car has a production window and she expects production to start towards the end of the month. She advised that I get my finances in order and asked me to contact her in two weeks if I don't hear from her first. Based on that estimate I should have the car by late May!

No. My lease approval was 2-3 months before delivery. However the payment is not locked in. Mine went up about $20/ month from when it was approved until delivery.

What or why? Delaying delivery because I am not done with a refinancing that is crucial to my ability to purchase.

Now, my deliver date has been updated and is ?
March 24, 2016 - March 31, 2016. My Delivery Specialist called today also and asserted that my car was definitely in production. I challenged her on that assertion, she said, Yes, its really being assembled now.

And we were told that they will run your credit again if it's longer than 30 days, so I guess that means it dings your credit score a bit by running it multiple times.

I got the email too, and I only confirmed my configuration last week. Expected delivery of Mar 24 - 31.

Reserved: Sept 30, 2015
Invited to configure: Jan 11, 2016
Confirmed configuration: Mar 5, 2016
Expected delivery: "Your estimated delivery date is March 24, 2016 - March 31, 2016".
VIN 25xx.

Perhaps I inherited a cancelation? Hard to imagine that nobody else with an earlier confirmed date couldn't have inherited it instead.

P90DL, deep blue metallic, 20" silver wheels, 6 tan seats, dark ash with light headliner. All options.

The only thing I can think, assuming this isn't all some kind of massive mistake, is that they had already built a ton of vehicles that were sitting around waiting on one or more parts. Once those parts arrived, they completed the builds rapidly and assigned VINs by configuration. It's possible they took some "common" configs and build out a lot of those, and just went down the line filling orders. I don't know.. it's definitely taking me off guard.

If we truly get our MX in a few weeks, I'm going to be stunned. And pleasantly surprised - as it'll be just in time to plunk down a deposit on a Model 3 and start the wait anew. ;)

Yeah who knows.
Without knowing all the details of production and manufacturing it's hard to tell.
I suspect Tesla would prefer to sell most expensive first, earliest reservations first, etc. But there can be weird part shortages, machine break downs and god knows what that changes the order of building dramatically. Maybe you run out of some kind of paint color and the company that makes it goes under so all black models get delayed or something :). I suspect their goal is to get as many orders filled a fast as possible trying to prioritize price and order of purchase.

As with all of you, my VIN 1645 is scheduled for 3/24-3/31. Because of some scheduling conflicts on my part, I won't be able to take delivery until after 3/31. I talked to my DS and offerred to be available prior to 3/24. If the car, as the letter stated, is complete today and just getting the QC routine, maybe they'll take my offer. No skin off my nose, but would like to help TSLA with their delivery numbers.

Does anyone know the phone hookup in the center console is that a piece we put in or does the SC do it?

Your SC will do it for you. Otherwise, it comes with the car and you can do it yourself if you like.

And I think they come with both iPhone 6 lightning and Android (USB3?) so you can change them at will.

I hope it's easy to do because I can just see it that my wife will want me to switch it to iPhone when she takes the car out and it will be Android for me most of the time.

Initial feedback seems to be negative on the "blind holster" as it doesn't seem to fit most phones if they have cases. It will be interesting to see if Tesla chambers this since Elon made such a big deal about it at the reveal.

For some reason I couldn't edit the above post. After sleeping on it and getting the email that my car was in production I changed my mind. I called the DS and he confirmed that production hadn't started but that it would start next week and we are still looking for end of March delivery. I told him i would get my financing in order by then.

The blind holster sucks! I use a female male cord. Works amazing... Got the Model X last night! Its great... Did have some small issues on pickup but I waited as they fixed them. I recommend anyone that pics it up looks over the car really well.

I like it more than my Model S but I will tell you it has way less room for storage. I'm going to miss the big trunk area in my early Model S... Auto open doors are a bit buggy... but still amaZing!! I'm loving it...

I own my own rollercoaster.... Yippee!

My DS asked me whether I want Lightning or USB when he first contacted me, so this is an either/or thing. Also, they don't offer USB-C yet, so people with newer Android Nexus phones will have to rely on 12V chargers :\

When were the last VIN's assigned?
I upgraded my 70D to a 90D + added the premium package last week and it just updated on MyTesla. Still waiting for a VIN. I believe it is currently in the 5k range but as I am in CA and ordered the premium package is it possible mine could be built earlier? When I was upgrading, I was told I should take delivery in mid April.

Vin 5453

I was told by my DS today that my car is in production. I ask him what exactly that meant, stamping aluminum, bolting things together? He said yes they are building the car.

P90DL. So maybe I will have it by end of month or first week in June.

Did you get your MVPA yet? If so, do you have a estimated delivery date on it?
• Jun 8, 2016
kendallpb
Wow, my other half's car is supposed to be delivered 7 days from now, but the MVPA is from January and there's still no VIN in My Tesla and no updated MVPA. I believe pinging the Delivery Contact didn't get a reply yet...I'll suggest my other half ping again every day from now on - it seems ridiculous not to have a VIN at this point. (Doesn't insurance require it? I forget.)
• Jun 8, 2016
CmdrThor
How do you have a MVPA without a VIN? The VIN should be on the MVPA otherwise it doesn't seem like that document would mean much. What did you order and when? I'm guessing it must be a P90D if you got an MVPA in January.
• Jun 8, 2016
kendallpb
@CmdrThor (best name and icon ever; I'm a huge Stargate SG-1 fan!): Just a regular 90D, but I think the MVPA is a preliminary one, due to the lack of VIN. When I got my S, I got a prelim one in mid-November 2012, then a final one Feb. 1, 2013 (days before I got my car, actually). Hmm, I'd forgotten the timing till I looked just now; so maybe this isn't so weird, but 6 days to go, it feels kinda weird (or at least, frustrating). My other half doesn't seem bothered by it, though. ;-) This was back when they did the whole Docusign thing; I don't even know if they still use that electronic signature thing or if they just wait and do it all in person. (I'm kinda very behind in forum reading.)
• Jun 9, 2016
CmdrThor
Thanks, obviously a big Stargate fan myself :)

Alright, well having no VIN would indicate your Model X isn't even in production yet so it's very unusual to be in that state and have delivery coming up in 7 days. I would call your delivery specialist and if you can't get a hold of him call 650.681.5100, someone at that number should be able to help you. Either someone messed up and didn't get your VIN on your My Tesla page or your X isn't actually coming in 7 days.

I never got a preliminary MVPA, my DS generated mine a day or two before delivery. From what I understand that is a manual step done by the DS and can be done earlier in the process if you are getting financing since it is required for that, but I got an unsecured loan from Lightstream so did not need it early.

I believe we signed some paper forms and then accepted delivery electronically on our My Tesla page.

Well, shoot, there is a VIN 4517 ... wonder how long it's been there. They really hide it. I feel silly - I looked all over the page, not trusting my other half to realize it was there - and I missed it, too! LOL. Thanks, @CmdrThor - you prompted me to take another look. We still don't have an updated MVPA but honestly the VIN is what I really wanted, and if they generate the final MVPA just before delivery, that's cool.

We got a loan without a VIN or final MVPA; I told the loan person we had a preliminary one without a VIN and she said not to worry about it. They gave us (just like for my Model S) basically a blank check saying it was good up to $XYZ and a place to write the VIN, and we're supposed to come by after getting the car to finish the paperwork at the credit union's end.

So anyway cool, it's all good. I feel silly. Thanks again for replying, Commander Thor - your "your X isn't actually coming in 7 days" is what spurred me to take another look, more closely! Give my best to the Asgard fleet of giant ships-all-staffed-by-one-person. ;-)

Thanks! :-D Well, his X, but I hope to drive it a little.... You know, the newer car's always better than the old one, so I'm sure I'll be jealous, despite my S. ;-)
