Cinergi's Model S part 3

Cinergi I think your videos are not very complete to previewing full MS ownership. Where is the unbagging video of the charging cable? I want to see the unscrewing of the valve stem cap (one tire will do - left rear prefered) (can you also show screwing back on if it's not too much trouble?) and also you need to demonstrate the Model S safety by climbing in and closing the frunk with a flashlight and showing the operation of the emergency release. How can we fully enjoy our future Model S' with your current incomplete coverage.

I agree - so lazy. We need complete data!

ROFL! Hear, hear. I'd like a video showing how fingers won't get hurt if trapped in the automatic door handles when they retract. ;-)

I forgot to post the charging cable un-boxing, sorry. Sheesh.

I'm guessing at this time, Tesla is being a little more liberal at dispatching Rangers to fix problems during this early period of production, and waiving the usual fee. They most likely want to gather as much data about part/manufacturing flaws so they can make any modifications to the assembly line as early as possible.

At some point they will simply ask you to bring the car to a service center to fix door handles, trim pieces and other minor problems that occur during the warranty period.

I disagree it's just this early period. Tesla execs continue to state that they want the service experience to include them coming to you and working on your car while you're at work so you don't have to deal with that junk.

LOL. Obviously a hoax, that'll never charge your iPhone5 :)

Wow ... two of my videos show up on the first page of search results on Youtube for "Tesla Model S" ... my channel's getting an awful lot of views and comments

    As it should be.

Nice job in the video hits although many of them are from me watching over and over ;)

Quick q: is there a way to disable e brake but keep car parked without neutral. I thought you mentioned it somewhere. I'm worried about washing and rust with ebrake engaged after reading a post in the forums, thanks!

I think the E-brake is the only thing keeping the car from rolling away when it's in park. There's no "pall" in the gearbox.

I believe that's correct -- or at least, there's no way to access the pawl separately that I'm aware of. Based on the behavior of the car when putting it into park, however, I think this is right.

Ah! "Pawl" with a 'w'. Got it. :)

Yes, I can't remember which Tesla person I heard say it, but somebody who should certainly know said that the extra set of calipers on the rear disc was the one and only mechanism for immobilizing the car when in park.

Posted a couple new videos in my channel -- instrument cluster (which covers how to get a grouped list of your phone contacts), changes in software 1.15.8, and my live streaming setup. Ben Goodwin - YouTube

Another series of excellent videos. I'm curious whether Elon acknowledged the videos you made? They are really really useful for owners and future owners.

I'm told some employees joke about just using my videos for the video stuff they're apparently working on. I've not received anything from any execs, but I don't really care -- that's not why I'm doing it. I'm taken care of in other subtle ways whenever I visit, chat, or ask something. I'm pretty well-recognized within Tesla which has obvious advantages (that I try really hard not to take inappropriate advantage of). The unparalleled access that we all have (and me in particular -- tho it's not like I'm being treated in any special way, I just have too much time on my hands lol) means that I can truly speak from my heart, soul, and mind about Tesla, their mission, their execs & employees, their factory, etc. I'm very well-informed. And I'd have no problem betting a *LOT* of money (via their stock) because I have no doubt they'll pull this off (they basically already have).
    Sorry, long answer

Good answer. I'm glad you're getting some recognition for the supportive things you've done.

I'm betting a lot of money (for me) on Tesla as well. I've moved from supporting Aptera to promoting all things Tesla on every forum, blog, and news article I can. Tesla is succeeding where Aptera failed.

Keep up the good work. You're doing an outstanding service for early adopters, future adopters, and the uninformed that would like to become informed.

Not sure if I ever got back to you on the either would be fine. I personally would prefer the wired version because the run is short.

Sounds like a non-Tesla owner Cinergi.

People with a Model S, or will have a Model S, hang on your every cable unboxing.

We may need to write it. Should it start out 'dry' and go slowly off the rails? Or start out just plain wacky?

I couldn't afford my dream car, has been any car from tesla since back before they announced the lotus as the base of the roadster. Last year I placed my deposit on TSLA, I wanted to be a part of the funding that got this rolling. Once my deposit becomes a full payment I will own my dream car, right now I own tesla and want to thank Cinergi for keeping mine as well as others dreams alive.

Yes. Yes. I think I need to send this guy a video response. HAHAHA awesome.

Well Ben, I must say your videos have been excellent! I've watched every single MS related video and registered with this forum to thank you. While my family is thinking about the Model X (mostly because I'm a college student and the Tesla would be for my dad...) I enjoyed learning about your experiences because I honestly doubt that aside from form, the two cars will be that different electronically.

Cinergi, you've now had your car for over a year! Congratulations! Do you have any one-year updates? Your one-week update was really informative, and I was wondering what your thoughts are on everything now that you've have the car through all four seasons, you've seen some firmware updates, and you've had more time to think about everything.

    Thanks!

OMG I can't believe I missed my 1 year anniversary! Well, I sort of can -- I was on a plane flying back from my vacation in Spain on Friday (the anniversary) ... :)

I've been thinking about a write-up -- both because it's been a year and because I'm nearly at 20,000 miles. I need to give it a lot of thought to get it all on "paper" and balanced ... but I still love the car. It's got warts ... perhaps more than some of my previous cars, but they pale in comparison to how awesome the car is otherwise :) I'll get something posted one of these days ... It takes me a good 20 hours to put together a good blog post.

Does any body have a video on installing wired LED Trunk and Frunk lighting, may be somewhere on youtube or some other web site. Which will be good for us non-electricians.
    Thanks

Yes thanks. that is a nice upgrade. I can't stand trying to find something in the dark then flipping on a "light" for help.
