This is pretty significant - My order is for a 90D, and my reservation number above 12000. Until yesterday, not even all P90Ds had VINs, and today, even the riff-raff like me has one!
Also interesting to see that my VIN is under 2000, it sounds like a lot of reservation holders haven't actually placed an order yet.�

Waldek 90D here as well with VIN 17xx. 90D with premium interior but no ultra sound. With tow package, high 72A charging, subzero package, regular silver 20" wheels, 7 seater, solid black on black with black and obeche wood matte, autopilot, smart suspension. Reserved 10/21/15, configured 1/11/16 and confirmed 1/18/16... VIN assigned today 3/2/16getting closer, and with "Tesla soon" it may mean whatever anyway

roser I finally got a VIN as well, in the 1200's. Confirmed 12/28/16 P90DL with every option including the elusive Onyx Wheels. Not sure if the onyx wheel issue has been sorted out or if Tesla is just assigning VIN's to everyone now.�

EboMike I think sequence number doesn't come into play regarding the VIN assignment - the key factor is the confirmation date, and your configuration. Location was floated around as a possible factor, but you're right at the honey pot, so I'm starting to disregard this theory.�

Monkey I wonder if there really is a delay now with the ultra white interior since Elon tweeted about adding a backing material? And now wondering what that means for those of us who already have a VIN for our ultra-white interior X? Personally, I'm OK if this stalls my order a bit longer as I'd rather have the upgraded seat material installed from the get-go, rather than having to return the car to service later for seat/ upholstery replacement.�

Waldek My 90D with VIN assigned yesterday is premium, silver 20" wheels, ca delivery in Costa Mesa (I am planning to ask to change it to Fremont once my DS contacts me), with air suspension since it was included. But no Hi Fidelity Audio in my case.... but with towing and subzero packages. All solid black with black on black interior.
So looks like audio had no impact since there are guys who have HiFi Audio package and received VIN.�

aesculus If they truly have the production issues resolved then you could be right.
Everywhere in CA is just a one day drive with a transporter. They might even send the cars out that are not factory delivery first, just to insure a bit of wiggle room.�

at this point I cannot pinpoint the rationale for handing out Vin's as I higher number reservation holders who confirmed after me have gotten a Vin. I'm doing factory pickup, fully loaded so don't understand the formula�

JulesR I thought I'd just throw this in...
I noticed I had a vin (1884) the first week of March. I reserved my P90D 4/15 and confirmed 1/6/16. Ordered it with every creature comfort offered and onyx wheels. A week before that vin showed up I had spoken to my DS and asked about the delay of the black wheels. He confirmed that the wheels were a delay and if I had chosen silver I would have most likely had my car by the end of March. I was supposed to hear back from him about the possibility of changing them and what effect it would have on delivery date when the vin showed up. I still haven't heard back from him yet.
On a side note, there have been two P90Ds delivered in the last two months within a few blocks of my house. One of them is directly across the street/corner (we're in a cul-de-sac) from me that other than having silver wheels and white seats, looks like what I ordered. It is what I ordered. We see each other all of the time, go to the same functions/parties, have kids (me 3, her 4) the within the same age ranges, and so on. We never talk cars though, we talk kids, houses/renovations and the neighborhood. Needless to say, I've been in hers, I love it and I'm very happy with what I've ordered. The other X is around the corner about 2ish blocks from us but we don't know them. It's a red one. Ours are both blue and will basically pull in to park opposite each other. And we are usually coming and going at about the same time. Pretty crazy...�

It said that until around today. Now it says: "March - Early April"
It's not exactly accurate as some members on the day they picked up their X, their's said still in production...

I originally had 22" Onyx Wheels and changed to silver a few weeks ago. Looks like people with Onyx wheels are getting VIN's so not sure my change made any difference. I'm in the mid-atlantic area.�

gavine Thanks, but still no dice. I did a (ctrl-F) to search the page and it's not there. Since others with the same config and similar VINs say April-May, I'm going with that.
I picked-up my Model S on my birthday in 2014. My wife's birthday is in May. Wouldn't it be something if she gets her X on her birthday too?
The great part about mine was that it wasn't supposed to arrive until a couple of days after my birthday. I'm convinced that the DS jumped through hoops to make it happen. I was very grateful and happy about that.�

mikevbf Go as far as you can into your mytesla model x page and then check the source code for "estimated delivery". I had the same problem of no word "estimated" in the source code until I went further into the Model X part of mytesla page before checking source code.�

CaliX My DS called today and said they talked to the factory and with no date probably June is the soonest because they are batching them together by color, options etc. So the VIN sequence although is some indiction of delivery it won't be in order. We will see people with 4k 5k VIN's get their cars before us. I was so excited when I got my VIN. Yes I will survive 90-120 days...�

1) Go to your Tesla X reservation page: h ttps://www.teslamotors.com/mytesla/profile?rn=RN123456
2) In the browser, view source. For example in Chrome, go to View->Developer->View Source
3) Press "Control+F" or "Command+F" to search/find and look for "Estimated Delivery" in the source code.
You'll find the dates next to the phrase "Estimated Delivery" in the source code.�
