dnarva14 Congrats! Crazy. I just got my first call from my DS introducing herself. I am Res Sequence 124, Production VIN 14x as well! Confirmed 12/1/15. My DS just said that my car has entered production.
P90DL, black metallic, black leather seats, 7 seats, every option except cold weather package.
Jan 12, 2016
ModelXBoy Nice, we are in the same Tesla Dealer in Costa Mesa! But my is still in lala land waiting to be build i think. I am so jealous of you and congras!
Jan 12, 2016
ck1116 so quick for production...
hope starting to deliver outside USA soon.
Jan 12, 2016
ohmman Can someone who took delivery of an MS at their service center chime in here? The interesting thing to me is that the vehicle will arrive 1-2 weeks prior to the delivery date. Was this the same situation with MS, or are we continuing what we've seen with the Signature MXs where the service center does final tweaking and adjustments?
I took delivery at the factory with my MS, so I don't have a point of reference.
Jan 12, 2016
Cobra Kai Congratulations!
I am production 4xx (confirmed 12/23/15) and was told by my DS that my delivery timeline is late February/early March. So that seems in line with what was told to you.
Jan 12, 2016
anticitizen13.7 I wonder if Tesla wants to make sure all the Signature Series are delivered first. This was an issue with the Model S, and there were some extremely unhappy sig buyers who watched as production cars were delivered before they got their sigs.
Jan 12, 2016
dirkhh No, this is very different. Model S usually arrives and you take possession the next day (unless it's the quarterly "end of quarter sprint" in which case it can take a few days).
But with Model X they moved the "final inspection" to the SC - so there is a full test of all systems that they do at the SC. Several Sig owners have reported that it took a week and longer to take possession of their car and at least one of them had this change in procedure confirmed by their SC staff.
Jan 12, 2016
lodenthal I wonder when non performance X's will enter production?
Jan 12, 2016
K-MTG Same, can't wait for production numbers to jump
Jan 12, 2016
SCModelX I am Res 14xx and VIN 4xx. I reserved 7/15/12, confirmed 12/1, VIN 12/23 (but who's counting, really!?!?! Lol). I am hoping with 1000+ a month starting late December, and there being less than 1000 Sigs ordered/ built/ VIN (anyway), that it would be sooner than later. March seems SO far!! (I actually bought an S November 27th, I was so ready to be in a Tesla). That being said I would MUCH rather have a quality build, than not. SC visits don't sound appealing. Not horrific, but would rather not
Jan 13, 2016
vigge50 One strang thing that will make many unhappy is that the normal production cars is on if way trough the factory and the Europeien Signature holders haven't get invited to the design studio jet. Shouldn't all signatures be deliver or at least produce before any normal production car?
Jan 13, 2016
CarlK That's the advantage locals usually enjoy. There are a lot of European or Japanese cars we don't get in the first one or two years or even not at all. European sig will be delivered before European production for sure.
Feb 3, 2016
antruong4 UPDATES:
I just got another call from DS today. My car (Production VIN 14X) is already finished. It just needs couple more days of inspection at the factory and 1 day delivering to local SC (Costa Mesa, CA). One more additional week to go through a series of checklist at local SC then it's READY. Estimate delivery date is still on track (2 WEEKS FROM NOW!!!).
BTW, she asked which cell phone I am using so they can have it's dock correctly install.
Feb 3, 2016
Marcos I am production VIN 8XX and have gotten the late-Feb, early March delivery date. I'm picking up at the factory
Really hoping this means the ramp is finally cranking up.
Feb 3, 2016
pthill65 Congrats! What's your configuration?
Feb 3, 2016
Marcos P90X, seven seats, vegan interior, default wheels, all other upgrades.
I want my car, yeah, but I want everyone else to get their car. Then I want Tesla to sell more Xs to people who don't even know the car exists right now. That'll happen when us first-movers do our silent and not-so-silent evangelizing on the roads and parking lots of the world.
I'm incentivized to see that happen, both as someone who cares about our planet, and as someone who owns a fair amount of TSLA. So ramp up!
p.s. I was reservation number 14XXX so I jumped way ahead in line. Yeay me! But I also feel bad for everyone else I jumped ahead of, so I also want to see everyone get their cars ASAP to assuage that little twinge of guilt!
Feb 3, 2016
ModelXBoy Hi
I am reservation #11,xxx and ordered P90D with everything else. I did not even have a VIN yet. I think my delay is definitely due to the Black Onix Wheel. I am beating myself up right now for selecting the wrong wheel! : (
Feb 3, 2016
Dalia
When did you confirm? I confirmed 12/2/16 with similar configuration. I'm so surprised that you were Res#14xxx and you got it that quick. Good for you, that's great and encouraging!
Feb 3, 2016
goneskiian It's only the wrong wheel if you prioritize getting it sooner over how you like the way it looks! ;-)
Oh yeah, and you have to have the Tesla Turbines.
Feb 4, 2016
vandacca I assume you meant that you confirmed 12/2/15, otherwise, you won't be getting your car this year.
Feb 4, 2016
socalsam P90X - No Ludicrious, No Premium, No Cold Weather. Got everything else. No Vin. Invited to configure 1/5/16. Confirmed 1/12/16. DS says April to June delivery. I have no vin likely cause I didnt waste money on the $4500 air filter. Im fine to wait and not blow 4500 bucks on something stupid.
Feb 4, 2016
larmor Could have used the quantum mechanical option, in which case, there was one state in which you could order in the future and receive it earlier...
Feb 4, 2016
vandacca I heard that people that selected that option got their deliveries delayed. Something about 3rd-party suppliers not being able to deliver them fast enough. That and the 22" Black Onyx wheels.
Feb 4, 2016
socalsam 3 years of delays, almost 5 months after the launch event and they still have supplier shortages. Blows my mind. Hopefully it all gets resolved soon.
Feb 4, 2016
jiaotong I am not convinced. I have a P90DL with black wheels and have had a VIN in the high 300's almost immediately after I confirmed on 12/5. Of course, no delivery, but in the absence of any known production deliveries I don't see it as significant. It will be here when it is here. : )
Feb 4, 2016
CTemp222 I Spec'd mine with a flux capacitor and that delayed me a whole year!
Feb 4, 2016
vandacca Weird, I thought Tesla delivered those on Oct 21, 2015. Are you sure you didn't also get the 22" Black Onyx wheels?

Feb 4, 2016
Lyon At this rate some of these early production cars may be delivered before some of the Signatures that were confirmed in early October (like mine). It seems like they really had to remake/redo a lot of some Signature cars. My.teslamotors.com shows the same delivery window for us (Feb-early March) and our car has been in the quality control/inspection stage for two weeks at this point.
Oh well, we'll all get our cars sooner or later.
Feb 4, 2016
ronmerkord
Yes, I believe that we will also get our SigX after some of the production models. Our SigX VIN#484 hasn't even left the factory for the Santa Barbara SC yet, so it is looking like it will be March before we get it.
Wasn't the whole idea of the Signature series that they would be delivered first? There must be some serious reworking going on, for Tesla to be flipping Sigs and productions like that.
Ron
Sig Red X VIN#484
Feb 4, 2016
aesculus Kind of makes you wonder if some got some bad parts and now they have to back them off. It is probably a different crew than the line personnel so you could be parts and people constrained. The new cars probably don't have the issues yours needs retrofitting for.
But this is all a WAG on my part.
Feb 4, 2016
Mark Z I hope they are doing that work at Fremont and not waiting for your local Service Center to do the work.
My Model X is getting a new driver's door latch today. They are still waiting for an entire rear seat assembly (I know, it's hard to believe, but true, all because my rear seats don't fold down). I am thankful that I get to use the Model X between the improvements. That allows finding some new issues that get added to the list.
Feb 4, 2016
Nototrader Mark. You are a very patient person. That is crazy that the car got the green light with all these issues outstanding.
Feb 4, 2016
CTemp222 Hmmm that must be it... That would make sense because the Onyx wheels are the only ones that can reach 88mph.
Feb 4, 2016
Mark Z With the production date at 11/15, the early VIN sat at Fremont for almost 6 weeks. Since the rear hatch latch plastic shows the slightest wear, I saw no wear at delivery. That was the hint that little work was done while it sat in Fremont. The 45 item punch list is being worked on (some items are within specifications).
The major benefit of the 2015 delivery was getting to take the tax credit sooner than later. Holding onto the Model S was another good move as I enjoy driving both at the present time. The local Service Center is very pleasant to work with and that helps. I will be more anxious to see things speed up when the CAV stickers for the HOV lanes arrive. Winter weather in the east will delay the cross-country road trip giving more time for Tesla to get those rear seats to fold down.
Feb 4, 2016
vandacca Hmmm...Tesla's achilles heel is getting them damn seats to fold.
Feb 4, 2016
Mark Z This is not the 2nd row. Most Model X owners have perfectly fine folding rear seats. Even mine folded at delivery! However, according to the SC, a later software change required new hardware for my early teenage VIN. This is more amusing than frustrating. When I need to move large cargo, I drive the Model S.
When the post delivery needs occurred, I shifted the plan of writing a review to writing a future report on how Tesla provided Model X improvements to get everything working right. A comparison between S and X when everything is working can be done later.
I'll let Consumer Reports write a review!
Feb 4, 2016
Lyon It's funny but I was having the same thoughts about the situation. I really don't think the car spends 2 weeks doing inspections unless they've found something wrong and needed to work on it.
I get that Tesla needs to deliver any car that's done and ready to go but this is pretty frustrating.
Of all the problems to have in life, this is one is so minor it's not worth worrying about... but I am.
Feb 14, 2016
antruong4 UPDATES:
Just got another call from my DS yesterday. My production X P90DL is already at the local SC since 2/11. It needs about 2 more weeks for inspections, firmware upgrade, & calibrations.
Feb 14, 2016
ModelXBoy When did you place your order (reservation #)? When did you confirm your order? What configuration? Are you taking delivery at Costa Mesa?
I am still waiting for my car to go into production, Costa Mesa also.

bobbykansara Congrats, antruong4!

Feb 16, 2016
omarsultan Chatted with my DS today. Since last we talked (I try to limit my "are we there yet" emails to every two weeks or so), my MX is moved into production inspection, where it should spend a couple of weeks, before it does off to detailing. This is a Fremont delivery, so I don't have transit time to take into account before I can take possession.
Feb 16, 2016
pvogel When did your order confirm? I'm similarly trying to avoid bugging my DS.
Feb 16, 2016
ptsagcy Took delivery today. So far absolutely no issues. Car is amazing. Weather was crappy today so didn't drive it much. Will report more as I get used to it. Here are some delivery pics. I'll take some better one when the sun comes out.

stevezzzz I see it too: looks like a hard object was pressed into the seat back for some time, leaving an impression. Seat belt buckle got caught in there while the seat was folded, maybe?
Feb 17, 2016
ptsagcy You have great eyes. Yes it is an indentation, but not permanent. There is an issue with the third row seats. If you leave them folded they crease. It seems like the creases resolve themselves after it's unfolded for a while, but I have a feeling if you keep them folded for a long time it might leave a permanent crease. I'm trying to decide if I will live with the creases because I rarely use the 3rd row but frequently need the extra trunk space. The 3rd row is easy to fold, but difficult to raise.

Feb 18, 2016
ptsagcy The color changes a lot with different lighting conditions. The fluorescents in these pics make look greenish and it's not. Looks very different in sunlight, clouds and dark. Hopefully when I get it back tomorrow from the detailer (OptiCoat) if we have some sun I'll take more pics.

ohmman I have delayed my delivery into April (from the late March/EOQ push). Can't say I'm not eager, though!

Mar 16, 2016
pvogel I admire and envy your restraint! I'm at 29.61666 hours and counting!
Mar 16, 2016
McManX Won't this make you miss out on the CA tax credit?
Mar 16, 2016
ohmman A few reasons, but mostly because I didn't want to be part of the mad rush - remember, I was going to be in the very last week of March. I want my SC to take their time with the car and deliver something that is less likely to require return visits. My wife isn't as understanding of those as I am.. and it's her car.
I'm definitely excited for you.. you've been waiting very patiently!
Yes, it probably will. I've taken the stance that I'm happy it's being phased out, so I had already decided not to apply for it anyway. Call me whatever you want, I just hope it helps someone else buy an EV.
Mar 16, 2016
K-MTG Oh I see, my delivery date is April hopefully.
I thought the CA rebate was based on the order confirmation date?
Mar 16, 2016
dhrivnak Wow very noble and it looks the new format does not allow reputation points
Mar 16, 2016
McManX I am pretty sure it is based on the delivery date. Discussion on this is here: CA Residents - this car costs $2,500 MORE after 3/31/16
Mar 16, 2016
ankitmishra A few weeks won't make any difference in the level of quality. Tesla has finished it's improvement run of Q1. So, your car will be as good as everyone else's. If they are having door latch problems, you will have them too.
Mar 16, 2016
ohmman The evidence disagrees with you. But you're welcome to live inside your own narrative.
Mar 16, 2016
K-MTG I just hope none of us get any problems, so perhaps I should be happy with my mid April ETA
Mar 16, 2016
ankitmishra Please share the evidence that you are talking about. My opinion was based on observation of Tesla's recent habits. Sure, I might have missed something.
Mar 17, 2016
Blastphemy Your observation of Tesla's recent habits all the way from India? Oh... you mean what you've read on the always reliable Internet! Got it. You definitely have more credibility than someone who has actually ordered a Model X and gets to speak with a Delivery Specialist on a regular basis and may have taken a factory tour. Uh huh.
Those of us who are receiving Production cars before Signature cars know full well that ohmman is correct. Each week the cars are made faster with fewer problems, those parts that are delayed come faster, and any problems found are corrected more quickly. A few weeks could make a very big difference in factory and service center experience and efficiency.
But you keep readin' the Internet and basing your opinions on other people's opinions; and keep posting here even though you've never seen a Tesla in person nor have one on order. Whatever works for you. Just know none of us take you seriously.
Mar 17, 2016
K-MTG @Blastphemy Harsh!
Mar 17, 2016
rdalcanto Even the Model S, which has been in production for over 3 years, per Elon's comments, undergoes frequent improvements to the assembly line. A Model X made 2 weeks from now will not be the same as one made 4 weeks from now. They are constantly finding ways to improve the cars and they incorporate those changes weekly.
Mar 17, 2016
digicool Thanks for the pics ptsagcy. You car looks very nice! I love the light interior + tan.
Let us know if you found a workaround to minimize the creasing. Like you I was planning to leave the 3rd row folded until an occasional need comes up.

Nototrader ![]()
I've only driven it 20 miles and it's now out of commission for the next two days for ppf and opticoat. But, I must say, after driving it, my opinion went from "meh" to "wow". Really an incredible car. For those making comparisons to an mdx or a Volvo XC90, it makes no sense to compare it to a p90d. It's like comparing a Ferrari to a Miata because they are both two seaters. Having said that, a 90D or a 70D with a similar price point would be more applicable. The P90DL is just a silly fun car that is probably never really needed for either performance or price. However, the same was said of my BMW X5M I used to have. And up until this MX, it was by far my favorite truck ever. So, for the insane such as myself, unnecessary doesn't mean unwanted or unappreciated!
Mar 17, 2016
K-MTG Congrats!! Glad you like it, keep the photos coming! I am also coming from an MDX to Model X
Mar 17, 2016
Nototrader Side note. I love autopilot. But last night I had it on local roads and as the road curved, the car started curving hard with it and didn't stop curving. It would have 100% driven into the curb if I didn't grab the wheel. Definitely an awesome feature. Definitely not something you can leave alone and not pay attention to on local roads! Driver beware.
Mar 17, 2016
digicool In my test drive on the highway I noticed that the AP waited for quite a bit before curving and then curved hard. It wasn't very pleasant at highway speeds. So ya, there is a quite a bit of room to improve.
Mar 17, 2016
Darryl Congratulations. Please don't forget to update ModelXTracker.com with your delivery date, manufacture date, (on upper corner of sticker on left door jam) , mileage at pickup, along with at least the last 5 digits of your VIN, City and State.
Mar 17, 2016
ankitmishra I don't go to the threads where discussion is held about the physical aspects of the car. My knowledge is limited in that area as I don't have a Tesla. I feel bored reading those threads as I can't relate to them. However, my knowledge is equivalent to everyone else's on the topics of speculation. And in a lot of cases, maybe even better (IMHO). I don't need to be in USA or Fremont to notice the habits of Tesla. Internet is more than enough for me. Kindly debunk my theories directly instead of making unrelated comments.
Tesla has stopped in early Q1 for improvements to Model X. It has started deliveries because of quarterly numbers. It will slowdown again in next quater. This is iterative development. That's how great things are done. Some things are only obvious when you start making them in numbers. You may disagree.
Mar 18, 2016
forumman83 I strongly disagree. They are not just going to blindly mass produce Model X to meet quarterly numbers; this isn't General Motors.
Mar 18, 2016
ankitmishra Please read my post again. Where did I say they are blindly mass producing it? I said they stopped to solve the problems. This version of X is better than the December ones. Progress is made gradually. They can't sit idly and wait for engineering to sort out all the problems. I am not criticising Tesla, I am supporting what it's doing.
Mar 18, 2016
forumman83 I'm not suggesting that you are criticizing Tesla, I'm suggesting that you are wrong.
