Pics of people taking pics of Roadsters part 1

  • Sep 14, 2011
    bonnie
I started taking pics awhile back of people taking pictures of my car ... add yours! (This is only a sample of the 19 I've taken in the last few months.) This started when I was in the drivethru @ the local Starbucks & could see in my rearview mirror, a person taking a shot of my car. It would have been a perfect shot, but I missed it. So I've had my iPhone at the ready.

(only posting this because I know it will be very difficult for Teg to resist a response ... )

Nice  ... This was on our mini practice rally last month. The car is RoadsterWarrior's. This is our entry for the "most people simultaneously photographing the same Roadster". The venue is West Point academy:

And this one's for the "Oh no you di'n't!" category! Actually Anne encouraged the girl to lean on the car. Don't try this at home.

Damm... I should have been doing this... a couple weekends ago Oakland had a cannabis fair and my green roadster was parked near. A couple "booth babes" in MJ themed tee shirts had their friends take pictures with my green roadster. I should have that recorded.

The other day I was going the my parking spot coming out of dinner and there was a guy snapping a picture and as I walked up the went back to changing the trash can liner which he had interrupted himself from doing. I was right there and he acted like he had not been looking. I was all ready to share about the car but he was back to work.

Over the weekend another TMC member organized a Roadster gathering at the Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth College. I met some interesting people working on the F1 project. I also met a materials science prof who has started a company making nano-tube substrate. He claims his product is ready for market and he says it will dramatically reduce the weight of Li batteries and extend their useful life to 500,000 miles or more. Countless people took pics. These are just a couple of them.

You can't tell but there's 7 people standing there and two are taking pictures.

This car arrived with "unknown number of miles remaining" and was on display as a "Roadster charging". Dartmouth installed a NEMA 14-50 inside the building just for this.

Caught on the way out of the pet food store this evening. The woman taking the pic said her brother worked for Tesla, 'car interiors'. She didn't have any good information (I tried!). I asked about his previous automotive experience, but didn't learn much, only that he had spent a lot of his career on car interiors. Bleh.
